These Nova base slabs ( they call them slabs but in reality they are plastic boxes you fill with sand ) are poor quality and entirely not fit for purpose, even when used with the Nova cantilever parasol, which is also pretty useless if there is even the SLIGHTEST hint of a breeze, it flaps about, swings around ( even when the lock nuts are cranked up as tight as they will go ) and makes so much of a creaking noise it is difficult to hear what people sat next to you are saying.At nearly £ 50.00 the “ slabs “ are a TOTAL waste of money, I wouldn’t use them again even if they gave me £ 50.00 to take them off their hands. Go with paving slabs they are much cheaper and are infinitely better.Although the parasol is also not good either, rather than go to the not inconsiderable cost of returning it, I intend to modify it to allow the locking nuts to work properly and eliminate the swinging around.In summary, save your money and have nothing to do with these products.
