Happy!
After breaking down my Maytag washer, I discovered rust on gasket on the transmission shaft holder. I ordered a seal replace for the shaft, and installed and new washer basket tub brake unit. Since then, I have washed 6 loads without having water leaking from the bottom of the washing machine.

Fixed the leak!
Had 2 leaks on a Kenmore Elite washer. One leak was at the drain pump and one at the outer tub seal. After replacing the 30-year old tub seal with this new Repairwares Washing Machine Main Outer Tub Seal and a new drain pump I think I'm good for another 30-years!

It worked but an OEM seal may be better for old tubs
I bought this as a replacement for the tub seal 383727 in my old Kenmore direct drive washing machine 110.28902790. This Repairwares seal is slightly taller, the channel is wider and two rings in the channel that actually make the seal to the plastic are farther apart from each other. That is a problem for my tub because the plastic hole has a short collar designed for the less-wide OEM seal channel.Initially when I put the seal in the tub I almost cracked the plastic. In hindsight I should have squeezed the seal together to get it into the hole, without so much force. As I pushed the tub down the shaft, that forced the seal upward on the collar to the point that one of the rings popped out of one side of the collar, like it was slightly crooked. It was only visible with an auto flex mirror but I'm sure it would have caused a leak. I added a light amount of silicone grease to the shaft and inside and outside the seal and tried again without success.I wanted both rings to seal so what I did was after the tub was seated I used a blunt object (the round female end of a 1/2" drive socket extension) to put pressure on the top of the seal (bevel part) circling around it a few times (push down at 1 o'clock, then again at 2 o'clock etc) to force the whole seal back down so that the top of the channel and the top of the collar were equal all around. Basically so that the seal was level and not tilted. I've attached a picture that should explain. You can see both rings are contacting the collar.I give this 4 stars because Amazon had it at my door super quick and after all it did work even if it's not an exact match.

Quality seal
The seal fixed the leaking washer. Can’t complain about the low price of it either. Saved hundreds by buying the seal and replacing it myself.
