Mothball Smell Eliminator Journey
I have been on a journey trying to eliminate the awful mothball smell in furniture. Recently, I bought a used loveseat that was in good condition, like new, but it has a strong mothball scent to it. I didn't realize it until I got it home. From morning to evening, I would crack open a window to let fresh air in where the loveseat is located. I do this despite it is winter and 20 degrees out. Anyway, I first bought the Bad Odor Air Sponge to help eliminate the mothball odor. I didn't see any difference in the smell. So, I bought two Smellezes bags. Since the Smellezes, I have smelled a slight difference. The strong mothball odor has reduced, but not completely gone. I do move the Smelleze bags around on the loveseat, and I have reactivated the Smellezes, zapping them in the microwave once a week. Also, I have placed open boxes of baking soda around the loveseat. The mothball smell still lingers. When walking into the room, the mothball odor smacks you in the face. Ugh!Given the mothball smell still lingered despite the Bad Odor Air Sponge and the Smelleze, I bought these Activated Bamboo Charcoal Bags along with the Clean+Green Natural Fabric Refresher Spray, Deodorizer, Stain, and Odor Remover. I was determined to get this hideous smell off the furniture. Between the two products, there was quite a big difference in odor elimination of the mothball smell. The smell has gone down to hardly anything. It is not completely gone. A faint smell of mothball still lingers when I sit on the loveseat. It appears to be coming out from where the two seating cushions touch, the two side edges. I have sprayed them again with the Clean+Green... and placed two of thee charcoal bags between them. I have faith that what is left will be eliminated soon. These two products have really made a big difference in eliminating what seemed an impossible task.Pro: 1) Activated Bamboo Charcoal Bags come in these nice and cute material bags that hold the product inside. There are many and plenty of them in the buy (15). 2) I am able to place the small bags all over the loveseat without a mess of staining the furniture: On the cushions, under the cushions, behind the back of the cushions, and so on. 3) The Activated Bamboo Charcoal Bags are cute, they don't look like they are out of place. I have had guests who have complimented on the cuteness of the bags. 4) The activated charcoal lasts for two months before reactivation.Con: According to the instructions, the Activated Bamboo Charcoal is reactivated in direct sunlight. I have asked with no response if charcoal can be reactivated in the microwave. Those who live in northern states in the winter, like me, will not get a lot of sunlight. Thus, the Activated Bamboo Charcoal Bags will no longer be good, unless holding on to them until the summer. I personally will hold on to the bags until the summer for direct sunlight exposure.Do they work? Yes, the Activated Bamboo Charcoal Bags do work. I recommend using them along with Clean+Green Natural Fabric Refresher Spray, Deodorizer, Stain, and Odor Remover. The wretched mothball odor has diminished by 95%. I give this product and the Clean+Green... two thumbs-up, and I highly recommend them both. When I walk into the room where the loveseat is located, there is no odor, as it used to smack you in the face.I highly recommend these little charcoal bags for any bad odor. Try them along with the Clean+Green Natural Fabric Refresher Spray, Deodorizer, Stain, and Odor Remover. They are the two best products that have worked for me on my journey in the elimination of the mothball odor.

Didn’t notice any big changes
These charcoal bags are well-made with a focus on quality and care. However, after using them for several months, I’m unsure of the benefits they provide or if they make a difference at all.

Not sure if they’re doing anything
These charcoal bags are good. Made with attention and care focused on quality. However, after several months of using them, I’m just not sure what benefits they are providing or if they are at all.We didn’t buy them for existing problem areas that needed some freshening up. I bought them predominantly to prevent any odor buildup — for such places as clothing and accessory drawers and cabinets. And to use where linens and blankets, pillows and quilts are stored.Although those areas are all maintained without odor buildup over many years already - I just thought these could just help freshen things up a bit. And maybe also thinking they’d help with any humidity or minor type changes in temp. I think the “bags” or sachets that help with removing any extra humidity are something completely separate. And these have no scent at all.So, what’s the harm. We’ve got them. They certainly aren’t causing any trouble and they are likely helping already or will help more as time goes on to keep the air around our closets, cabinets, etc. nice and fresh.

Works Great!
Recently I began noticing an odd smell in my home - it wasn't awful, but it wasn't pleasant. Something like cooking cabbage mixed with a rancid perfume that didn't smell very good to begin with. I was stumped as to what it could be and it was driving me nuts. My air purifiers weren't helping. Cleaning the ducts didn't help. Baking soda sitting around in bowls did nothing. I bought these, hung them throughout the house and the smell is about 95% gone. I may buy another bunch to hang in my tackroom where I struggle with mold growing on leather. Don't know if it will help, but it can't hurt.

💞 They Eliminate Odors 💞
These bags work! We went away for a couple of days in August and when we came back, the first thing my husband said was that the house smelled like the new model homes we toured while house hunting. These new homes must use activated charcoal bags to keep the houses smelling nice. You can smell a fragrance but it’s a subtle, pleasant woody smell. Once a month I place them on a window sill where the sun shines through every morning and leave them there until the next day and then place them in each room of the house. In the bathrooms I place 2. And 4 in the great room. And there’s no unpleasant odor coming from the bathrooms or closets or anywhere else in the house. We’re very satisfied with them. I highly recommend them. 😎UPDATE: Don’t place more than one in small rooms because they remove moisture in the air and it can get very dry, you need some moisture in the air especially in the winter months with the heater on. I’m now basically using one in each bathroom and one in each closet. I removed the ones I had placed in the bedrooms.
