FPGEE Secrets Study Guide: FPGEE Exam Review for the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination 1st Edition

I love the fact that it follows exactly the blueprint for Fpgee. I think it covers the most important aspects of what I need to study and it helps me to get a better understanding and to have an idea of what should I focus on. I also like a lot the fact that it has links for video reviews.

Very helpful for me

I bought this book as it seemed to be one of the few books specifically for the FPGEE. It is not worth the money.It is extremely short and seems to be completely random. For instance, the chapter "Pharmacology" starts with a quick overview of FDA Pregnancy Risk Categories, followed by 3 sentences on the basal metabolic rate and then a paragraph describing Topoisomerase Inhibitors, and so on throughout the book. While a concise book can be quite valuable, in this book even the little information that is there is often unimportant, unintelligible or completely false. For example, a whole paragraph is devoted to "Income and expense accounts" ("Expense accounts- is money that is used to buy things. In a pharmacy this relate to buying pharmaceuticals, paying employees etc." The missing third-person-s is quoted correctly!) At one point, the book explains the acronym USP as standing for "united standard procedure", although USP stands for United States Pharmacopeia, which is THE official source of regulations for pharmaceuticals and one of the most important sources studied by pharmacists in the course of their training. Getting something that basic wrong makes me wonder what other mistakes there are in this book.I read through the entire book two days before the test.The first 18 pages give general tips and tricks for taking a multiple choice exam. While these were interesting to read, they are not worth buying the book for.In the scientific part, I found at least one factual mistake in every chapter, often more (for example, loop diuretics cause hyperuricemia, NOT hypouricemia as stated; BUN is NOT a liver enzyme as stated, it stands for Blood Urea Nitrogen and is a blood test). Even worse are the spelling and grammar mistakes- this book literally sounds like it was written by a fifth grader. This also extends to the technical terms- in a table containing 20 drug names, 6 were spelled incorrectly (for example, "alosteron" could have meant aldosterone or alosetron, two completely different drugs).Reading through the book helped me get a quick overview of topics likely to be found on the FPGEE. There were several that I had not heard of before reading this book, so I took time to look them up using a better source before the exam, and two of these topics did in fact appear on the FPGEE, although not in-depth. The book isn't worth 50$ for that, though!I realize that I am in a different position than most people taking the FPGEE, as English is my native language. Maybe this book's very simplistic style and content is designed to appeal to non-native speakers. But given the factual errors, my personal opinion is that this book is a rip-off. You're better off buying a book where you only understand half of it, but at least use one that's factually correct, well-written and in-depth.

I started reading the material as soon as I got it from the mail. At first, I was surprised how thin the product was. But upon reading, I realized how the author(s) brilliantly summarized everything leaving only the essential parts. Making studying a lot more easier than it should be.

the whole book is just a simplified version of the FPGEE curriculum , expressed in common terms. its can be helpful for some people and surely includes some useful bits of info , but in my opinion it is NOT what it promises.

I think it is a recompilation clear and easy to review of the general knowledge of any health care professional

Excellent product. I bought from a different company another test, and with your book I can answer that questions. Read this book is the first step to start with the study to pass Fpgee.

I found the product price quite reasonable.The product itself to be very compact, filled with key essential facts and information.Straight to the pointI like the fact that it is lightweight and easy to carry around.I schooled in Nigeria yet I find the guide easy to read and digest.I will certainly recommend it to others!
