Works great, great price
Great price for the number of available connections, with individual resettable fuses. I previously had a number of 12V wall warts on a number of extension cords, which was a huge mess including all the homemade baluns from power connectors to CAT5 cable. This allows me to connect the power from my CAT5 cables directly to the screw terminals. Also a single channel has enough power for my CIB 8 channel DVR which also uses 12V. The PTC fuse gets a bit warmer than the other channels due to the extra current draw, but so far it hasn't tripped. I may bypass the fuse on that channel or connect two in parallel since that effectively doubles the current capacity before any fuse would trip. I wouldn't suggest this unless you REALLY know what you're doing. I'm a EE so I take these calculated risks. Also worth note is that my old system had a number of channels with some ghosting in the image as well as occasional noise. I always suspected the power wasn't as great as it could be to these cameras, and turns out that was true. All the ghosting and noise is now gone from all my cameras now that they are connected to this supply. A couple things I'd wish for: - They only provide three grommets so you can effectively only knock out 3 access holes unless you go to the hardware store and get some more. It would be great to include at least 4 so I have 2 in, 2 out as my cables pass through this box picking up power on the way. - There's no knockouts on the left side of the box, and instead a vent near the top left. My original intended configuration had me wanting my DVR on the left side of the power supply, so my cables couldn't flow naturally in that case. I ended up moving the location of my setup anyways and it became a non-issue. - I wish there was an option to source the AC power from a hole in the back of the box, so I could run a wire from the wall directly into it. This would help improve tamper-resistance if you care about such things. Not a huge deal for me, but why even worry about having a lock and key if you can just unplug or cut the power cord on the side to disable it? Overall I'm happy with my purchase, and while not required to make a DVR system I would recommend it to anyone wanting multiple channels and a clean wiring setup.

Works well
Installation was very simple. Another review indicated the screw holes were in an odd location, however I did not find that to be the case. There are 2 key hole screw holes in the upper corners and 2 round screw holes in the bottom corners. Only tips on installation are 1. Use a magnetic screw driver for the bottom screws. Unless you have very slender fingers it is difficult to hold the screw on the screw driver when starting the screw. I used a magnetic tip screw driver to start them and them my electric driver to finish 2. Make sure all of the electrical terminal screws including those to and from the power supply under the plastic guard are tight (unplugged of course). Most of them needed a little tightening when I received the unit. This is something I always do, but some people may not think of it. I thought using this was a little over kill for my 16 camera home security system, however I am glad I purchased this unit. The installation looks much nicer and it only takes 1 outlet instead of 4 to run the cameras.

Arrived, broken, missing screws, 6 volts rather than 12 volts and the left power bank was defective
If I could give this product zero stars I would. Product arrived with missing distribution screws. The two top knockouts were already knocked out with damage on the top of the unit. The power supply was actually putting out 6 volts rather than the advertised 12 volts, and the complete left bank of the power distribution terminal was completely inoperative. I suspect that this was a return unit that was returned because of all the issues above and no one checked the returned unit. Do youself a huge favor and buy another product rather than this one.

Nice, functional, and affordable!
One of these power distribution devices was deployed yesterday, so far all fine and working like a horse, I will be deploying more of these devices across the enterprise. The only thing I wish they had easy to replace fuses.

Good for home use - small range cameras
I'm electrician and I run some tough tests right the way when I got this product. First test was 0.4Amps load on one output. Voltage drop from 12.7V to 12.4V and last for 10min stable. 10min is the time when I stop each test. Next load was 0.8Amps on one output and volt. droped to 12.3V lasted whole 10min. So far very good, better then expected. Next test was 1.4Amps load on one 0.5Amps output. It lasted for about 2min before it shot down only the one tested output. It came back on in 30 seconds or less. So I double two outputs and conected 1.4Amps load, it lasted whole 10min but I dont remember the voltage drop. All I know the volts drop din't drop below 12V in none of the tests. Now the smoothnes of the actual power. I had problem before with using litlle power supply which comes with each camera so I decided to run all 8 cameras of two marine 12V bateries which I allready had and that was working perfect exept I had to recharge them every 3 to 4 days. So no problem in that area since this is the smoothest 12V DC power you can ever get from any supply. When I conected the cameras to VideoSecu 18 12V power supply there was no diferent, just like it was runing of my bateries. So far about one month 24h/day I'm runing 6 cameras 0.4amps each and 2 cameras 0.74Amps each, one of each power output with out any problems. And planing to ad more cams. One litlle thing I don't like is the actual conection for low volt wiring. It is up side down. Conected l.v. wire will cower green led, at least on mine unit. Well nothing is perfect. I would strongly recomend this product for cameras with 0.5Amps ratings or less. The description and tech spects of this product are very acurate. You might have noticed English is not my first languige but I'm glad if I can help and make you laugh at same time :)

Good quality
I had some reservations prior to purchasing a power distribution unit to power my 8, 600 line, day-night cameras. I was unsure of the current draw so I put 4 cameras on one bank and the other 4 on the second bank. Well, I decided on this power supply. 1) It appears to be very well constructed. Heavy gauge steel box with a key lock, very easy terminals to hook the + and - power wires from the cameras. I really like the fact that it has some sort of circuit breaker rather than a fuse to replace should the power wires somehow become shorted together. Bottom line is, I am very happy with this power supply and would buy another one if I needed it. What was unclear to me was a hidden switch (although labeled) that says 120V / 240V. It if nearly impossible to see the position of the switch. So I tested the 12V dc output side with the switch in each position to make sure the input voltage switch was set correctly. Here in the USA we use 120VAC. I am not sure this unit shipped with the switch in that default position..... Update Dec 3, 2018: Power supply completely died after 6 years of use.

Replaced 16 transformers + 3 UPS to this one box and one *outlet* of a UPS
Worked great to convert a 16-camera system with 16 individual power transformers to this one powered cabinet. I cut off the transformer blocks of each camera and directly wired the camera power cables to the panel. It would have been better to buy the cameras intended to be wired directly to a box like this, but this was a retrofit of an old system. In my situation, I confirmed the power of the individual transformers matched the power of this box. After wiring the cameras to the box, it easily mounted to the wall, and then this box was connected to a UPS. This reduced me from 3 UPS devices to support the 16 cameras, to just one outlet on a UPS. The box is a little flimsy if it was really "attacked", but the key/lock prevents casual tampering.

It is very easy to put together (connecting the power plug pigtail cables ...
My camera system worked for about 1 month when my cameras began to fail. I thought it was the cameras or DVR, but eventually figured out I was not getting enough power to my cameras. I began researching and looking for a bigger power source when I came across this product. As this product looked so different then a regular power cord I was a little confused and intimidated. But again after a little research I purchased this product with a Security Camera DC Male Power Plug Pigtail Cable (20 Pack) and my problem was solved. It is very easy to put together (connecting the power plug pigtail cables to the unit) then connect your power plug pigtail cables to your camera power plugs. The box can be hung on the wall or simply laid on the shelf. Funny when I told my husband this product had arrived, he said he would put it together when he got home. I proudly told him I had already set it up and all the cameras were again working... If I can do it anyone can. I am very happy with this product.
