Great Product
I have been looking high and low for the right mask/right gaiter that does the job in this time of COVID. I wanted to find something that is comfortable and stays up. The product also needed to be something that my husband and 18-yr old son would also wear. We have had the gaiters for for a weeks now, and this product works perfectly. Some masks had made me claustrophobic. Some other gaiters were made of materials so light they wouldn't stay. THIS GAITER DOES THE TRICK. It is light weight, comfortable to wear, and stays up. I ended up liking it even more than anticipated because we went hiking the other day and I loved the versatility of the gaiter ... sun protection and got my hair off my neck. I can highly recommend.

High Quality Gator
I purchased 2 of these gators for use when I need a face covering during pandemic social distancing. These are great when you are going to be outdoors and just need it for when you pass people nearby...or when you are going quickly into an elevator or store. They are less effective when you need to wear one for longer periods of time. Mine tends to slip down over my nose and I have to rearrange it regularly. For situations when I need to wear a mask for longer periods of time, I prefer an actual face mask that has over-ear ties and a nose strip to keep the mask in place...and glasses from fogging up. My 100% cotton washable masks are also easier to breathe through...but these gators work well for short periods of time. They are also good to keep in the car in case you need one unexpectedly. They are very light weight and would pack well for travel too.

Great for its designed purpose
Bought this for summer motorcycle riding. Avoids neck burning and allergies from the wind blowing in my face. This is nice and lightweight and great for its design. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars across the board is probably unwarranted. I rated it down the one star simply because the synthetic smell of the material bothered me where I had to wash the item several times. But I think that was more a product of me and wearing all these pandemic masks day in and day out that caused "odor" reaction. Other than that, again great product and at economical price.

Convenient and comfortable face mask
I initially chose this mask to wear when mowing the lawn, but I will also use it as a face mask during the COVID-19 epidemic. Without a mask, seasonal allergies can make me sick for a couple days each time I mow the lawn. I have been using a paper face mask while mowing for the last couple years, and it has helped a lot to prevent major allergy symptoms. However, when wearing the mask for 4 hours at a time, the elastic bands rub on my skin and it becomes very uncomfortable. I just received my WindRiver gaiter, so I don't yet know for sure how well it will filter allergens. However, I have tried it on, and it is definitely more comfortable than other types of masks I have used. There are no elastic strings to chafe the skin. In my opinion, it is also a more convenient option than other types of masks, especially if there is a need to put it on and off repeatedly -- as may be the case for use during the COVID-19 epidemic, for example, and you wish to remove the face mask when able to maintain social distancing, and put it back on when needed. In "gaiter mode", it stays comfortably out the way, around the neck, but ready to easily pull the top portion up for use as a face mask. Also, there is no worry about misplacing it. Other types of masks would typically be completely removed, but the gaiter is right where you left it: around your neck, readily available. Overall, these qualities make it a better option for me than other masks I have used. Also, I am happy with the quality of the material and the stitching of the seam and edges. After I use the gaiter for mowing, I will update this review with results on how well it filtered the allergens. UPDATE: My gaiter worked great at filtering the allergens while mowing. No problems breathing after mowing for hours today. My eyes, however, are extremely itchy, so I know there were allergens in the air. That is my confirmation the mask works.

Too slippery for me!
The service was great, super quick and clean, easy to open. It is lightweight and very breathable. It just doesn't stay up by itself. I mostly use it riding my bike, so I have a helmet on and that helps. But I want something to cut the glare and sunburn I get driving into the sun during the summer. It seems to help my neck, but not my nose. I look like an alcoholic, but can't drink much anymore! Maybe I don't know how to wrap or fold it as well. Don't let my experience dissuade you if you already use one of these. It is better quality than the first one I bought, which was itchy. Just take it into consideration if you are thin with a tapered face!

Light weight protection
Got this as an alternative face mask during the corona virus. I work in an uncomfortably warm building where I need to be able to interact with customers at a distance. The homemade masks with elastic bands were killing my ears. This mask is a little bit thinner than I would like but it’s very light weight, comfortable and dries quickly. It was so long that I was able to cut it in two and have a couple. It’s also so thin and dries so easily that I just wash it out in the sink (30 seconds) when I get home and let it air dry over night. The best part for me is that I can keep it around my neck when customers are not in the building then just pop it on when people show up. It does squish my nose a little but doesn’t hurt compared to straps biting into my ears.

Will be very useful for shopping etc
UPDATE: studies have shown that gaiters are worse than nothing for preventing Covid spread. They aerosolize your exhale. The gaiter is still good for all the points I mention below, but please don’t use one alone as a corona mask. ORIGINAL: At some point the mask restrictions will be relaxed, but I still want to protect myself and others, even if less than perfectly. The gaiter is nice as you can wear it scrunched around your neck and just pull it up when needed. And around your neck protects you from sun damage. My husband will wear his when doing yard work as he has been stung by a bee on the neck three times already. I wish I had one of these when I was commuting by train in Chicago as they really cover you well, better than a scarf. Take up little space and all but disappear when not in use.

comfortable and easy to wear
I really like the flexibility of the WindRider neck gator affords me. As a mask, I can wear it alone while exercising usually riding my bike. While I had been wearing a N95 mask as too often and too quickly, I came into situations where contact within 6 feet occurred with people I did not know. Having a mask or now my gator in place is reassuring and not socially negative or dangerous as trying to put a mask in place while riding can be. Additionally, I can wear it over a mask to extend the life of the mask as the gator is washable. As life with the Coronavirus continues, I guess it does add a bit of fashion to my masked face. I got two to rotate and wash.
