Keeps
This keeps on popping up wanting me to right a review, had I ever purchased it I would gladly do so.Best thing to do is to send me a free one so I can review it properly.Still gave it 5 stars as these screw chucks are handy to have providing the centre screw comes out easily enough.

Cheap and cheerful but fragile
Only used it a few times and the screw snapped mid turn. A shame because up until that point it was all good. The screw is fairly fragile. Wouldn't have been a problem as you get a spare and they'd be easy enough to replace using a coach screw with a little fettling. Only issue is the supplied screws thread in to the plate as well as a grub screw so when they snap off it's nigh impossible to get the stump out without drilling it.I also had a heck of a time getting the pointy end of the screw out of the middle of the bowl without damaging my gouge. To make sure you don't snap the screw either make your own beefier screw or use the extra holes and add wood screws. In my opinion this negates the whole purpose of a screw chuck as it's supposed to be a quick way of fixing the work piece and be easily removable. The chuck itself seems of good quality. It has a detent for a spanner which is the same size as on my lathe headstock (1 1/4") and it sits just proud enough that the work piece doesn't bump in to the motor. The seller was very quick to issue a refund when I raised it with them and I now have a spare backing plate.

Faceplate review
When used faceplate the screw wouldn’t screw far enough into the thread to hold. The grub screw wouldn’t hold it. When I took the wood off the plate the screw stayed in the wood and not with the plate

Nicely machined product!
Well worth the price! The 1”x 8tpi thread fit tight and smooth, and the chrome plating made it look nice… thank you seller for the affordable and well-made product!

Inexpensive middleweight faceplate
As faceplates go, this is an inexpensive one and what I would call mid-weight. It is a quality steel rather than cast iron. The one I ordered is the basic 1" by 8 tpi 4" faceplate, but I just wanted a spare that I could keep attached to my project while using a shared lathe. My only concern was that the threaded center seemed a bit shallow and that the headstock spindle threads might protrude through the faceplate. However, they don't and all is well. Exactly what I was looking for.
