Sturdy Garden Tool is a Delight to Work With
Ordered this Saturday ... it arrived Monday. Impressive tool. I've had something similar before, a little wider by the handle. The previous unit fell apart after several years and I found this. I immediately went out to the garden to finish planting some veggies and used the hoe to break up the wet clay soil. I missed having one all last year -- and believe me, this is a delight to work with. A hand-hoe, shovel and rake in one tool. Quite sharp at the point -- breaks up clods of dirt, wet or dry. Fits my hand well, good leverage and, above all - looks like the steel fits well into the handle and is quite sturdy. Planted several plants tonite in record time!

The Tool to Have
This is a replacement purchase for the one I already had but lost. It is my favorite in yard tool. Tired of pulling up weeds only to have the stalk snap at it's base? Want precision tilling around desired plants? Hate crab grass? This is the tool to have.It cuts through the soil like it's butter. I live in a hard soil area, so watering before hand is needed. But after that, this thing just slides through cutting root or plant depending on where you slide the blade. If you want to pull more than slice, make sure the stalk is closer to the bend and it will more pull at the base of the root than cut. This 'single piece of metal' design means the blade will not break off as has happened in other, cheaper, models I have tried. It also means you can sharpen the blade yourself if you want to. Still, I'm not so good at remembering to sharpen the blade and my old one still did wonders through the soil. Even crabgrass can't fight you when the blade slips under the clump of grass to cut and pull from underneath the earth. Also, hard to explain, but the blade angle just seems right. The rigid construction means I can make adjustments to my angle of attack, and the Hoe just goes with it. I would rather get on my hands and knees to dig out a garden bed with this thing than a traditional stick hoe. I'm over six feet tall, and the traditional hoe is never angled right nor is the handle ever long enough. This tool is pricey, but you won't have to buy another one - unless you lose the first one or get one for a gardening buddy.

Almost, but not quite, makes weeding enjoyable.
Works well, when I can be bothered to go out and do some weeding. The shape of the blade makes it easy to cut through the dirt and get the weeds by the roots.

worked great would have given a 5 star I have a right hand, different brand, haven't used the lefty enough to get comfortable with it.Left handers learn to use rightys tools. The tool is longer then the other tool, that really doesn't make any difference. Like the wood handlebetter on the dewitt. Both shafts and blades are solid however the Dewitt steel is is not as thick as other. Don.t see that as a problem with either.

Best weeding tool ever.
My favorite weeding tool which is not In many retail stores. I bought this to replace the one I lost in the garden, plus 2 more to give away. These are sturdy and versatile, can dig, cut, weed and plant with the same tool.Might paint orange stripes on the new one to make it easier to find because I don’t like gardening without it anymore.Be sure to buy for right or left handed person as it only works one way.

Does what it is supposed to do. Glides through dirt
Definitely right handed. Cuts right through the dirt to get to roots. Feels good in your hand and does the job.
