Actually works to control hyperthyroidism
So my 5 stars is not for the quality of this cat food. Necessarily. Let me explain. If you read the ingredients the food is basically hard nuggets of corn with synthetic vitamins. Would not have touched my precious fur monster's lips before she got sick with hyperthyroidism. We always tried to feed her with the highest quality cat food we could find, all natural, high protein, etc. She got sick anyway. Initially, we were able to get her hyperthyroidism under control with methimazole. And then only a month or so after victorious vet visit where her T levels were normal, she started getting sores on her face and in her ears from the methimazole. Due to the separation period involved with radioactive iodine treatment, we decided to try the food. I was very reticent but after reading through reviews on Amazon (thank you reviewers) I began to think it could work. And it has so far. Our 13yo old cat is back to her normal spoiled self! Her fur is even shiny and she seems to enjoy her hard little corn pellets. We also feed her the canned Y/D but she seems to prefer the kibble overall.

Cat likes it and switched over easily
My cat needed to switch over to this and initially was worried she wouldn’t like it but she took to it right away.

Seems to be helping my best buddy at 18, now 19, so worth every penny for that!!
My dearest 18 year old Siamese seems to be doing better with this food. I will do anything to keep him around, cause super smart and cool cats are hard to come by! yep, I even feed him lobsta meat on occasion. I love the looks I get at the fish market when Walter asks me if I want some tail meat for my cats, lol. hey, he has had to live with me all his life, so he deserves the best.I am glad to see him improving, and pray it continues. it is expensive, but how do you put a price on your best friend and loyal companion? I bought him a Siamese twin brother, but I got the type of Siamese that is unstable with that one.UPDATE: He is now 19 :) I just wonder if I can get this to him with 2 new kittens? He does give me the "WTF" stare when those 2 come prancing around, even after 4 months of us all in one house. Can kittens eat this stuff? Now that I have 4 cats, very hard to control who gets what since I free feed with dry food. And yes, litter duty is quite busy. The kittens love to watch me clean the boxes, why can't they learn to help? All that energy needs to be directed to a positive purpose! Other than basically tearing house apart!! 2 kittens together are amazing best freinds, but they play very hard, drop, and wake up to play harder later. Once the bedroom door closes, I swear I hear them say "party time"!

Absurdly Expensive, but . . .
This cat food seems to be the only thing keeping our 18 year old cat alive. She can't keep much of anything else down. So, we are glad that we found it.That admitted, it is absurdly expensive.

He loves it.
I ordered this as a recommendation by my vet due to borderline hyperparathyroidism but didn’t know if it would affect his irritable bowel syndrome or if he would eat it. He is also a VERY picky eater. I opened the bag as soon as it arrived and he came running into the room I was in. I gave him some and he gobbled it down. He LOVES it,and has been eating it without any issues for about 1 1/2 weeks. I won’t know if it has helped his thyroid levels until he has bloodwork again. If it does 5en it would get 5 stars.

Life Saver 🐾
My senior kitty Athena had a severe UTI complete with bloody urine. She was straining to use her litter box. Her fur was oily and she was losing weight. Long story short (and $330 vet bill later) they gave her amoxicillin for her UTI. It seemed to help but then days after her meds ran out, she was still straining to go. She was manic, bouncing around always hungry. Looking into her symptoms, I found out it was really her hyper active thyroid. Since starting this diet (no other foods or treats) 7 days ago, she no longer strains to go, her fur isn’t oily and she has calmed down. I’m hopeful in a few weeks all will be resolved. I will definitely purchase this going forward. It’s cheaper to get this, than to pay a vet bill and still end up having to pay for the food anyway. I want to stress that if you have no idea what is wrong with your pet, see the vet first. Always.

Chicken what??
3 months ago we switched to Dr Marty’s and noticed a huge difference in our 14 year old cat!! She has been getting silkier and more playful again! We had her to the vet constantly and she was getting worse guickly so I did some studying and am happy to have found better quality food. Her coat is silky in stead of dry with excessive shedding and she’s actually more like her kitten self. It’s worth checking out.The pet food industry…????
