128GB (4 X 32GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 1333MHz ECC Memory Ram Upgrade Kit for The 2013 Mac Pro 6,1

Mac Pro was starting to drag so I checked the memory and saw that one of my 16GB Simms was faulting.Figured I would either replace the Simm or just get a new tower. With prices >5K for something shiny and new I did a double check on whether the Mac Pro could hold more than 64GB and viola came across this bundle. Took about 10 minutes to install - fair amount of dust to clean out - made sure I was grounded to avoid any static electricity creating a disaster and everything rebooted with the 128GB perfectly. I use the adobe suite, Wordpress and other heavy mem users in parallel and have already noticed the performance improvement. Beyond pleased at the savings and speed improvements.

I need to install in a macpro 2013 and need to remove the heatsinks and surprise when I remove it shows signs of used memory

They advertise it as being for the 2013 Mac Pro, but it comes with pre installed heat spreaders that do not physically fit in the 2013 Mac Pro. Once I removed them it seems that the ram works, but it's pretty sketch and I wish I'd just gone with a more well known brand.

After being told a set I bought on eBay that was cheaper didn't work. I purchased this set which DOES work in the Mac Pro 6.1 AKA (Trashcan Mac Pro) this is error correcting memory and it's as much as you can add to the the mac pro. I still think it's a bit pricey for DDR3 memory but it's for a Mac and everything is pricey for it.

Great price, quick shipping... but unfortunately I could not get it to work with my late 2013 Mac Pro.I got my machine to boot once, it locked up. I tried reshuffling & reseating these but machine locked up at the Apple logo on boot..

Mac pro 2013 registers the ram, but this led to a wake/sleep issue. My Mac won't wake when in sleep mode which forces a restart everytime it sleeps. Once rebooted Mac says it restarted because of an error. This ram also shows up as multi media device not simply as ram so the Mac is clearly distinguish it from the previous ram it held. If anyone has a way to fix this I'd be happy to hear any potential solution. Really wish this ram was perfect.
