A surprisingly capable processor in disguise
I didn't want to buy this processor, just as a small note to be aware of when you read this.I bought this processor to test a motherboard when my athlon 860k decided to die and newegg did not want to express ship me a new one. I notified my client who was paying for this computer and he was devastated to know that the 90 dollar CPU he paid for had just died and the only way to meet HIS deadline was to drop in a cheap 50 dollar processor. I apologize, ensured that the next time he came home we'd have everything fixed and he reluctantly accepted my offer of a new CPU cooler and replacement processor as an acceptable apology.getting down into it, I fired up dying light with a R9 270 manufactured by HiS and i was delighted.Pros45 FPS on Dying Light at medium graphics 1080p60 fps in league at all timesvideo editing and encoding are better than his previous laptopbeautiful audio quality with all FM2 processorsCons:dual core causes weird anomalies that i don't notice when using a quad core(IE a missing tree here and there, less foliage density)bottlenecks the GPU slightlyperformance per watt is low compared to the newer iterationsAll in all, I think this processor is a great buy for anyone looking for a cheap, budget minded gaming build for 720-900p gaming.when paired with a sub 150 dollar graphics card one can hope to achieve decent framerates and better-than-console gaming. However I would also recommend this as something for an average home user or someone who is going to use this for light media usage.as of now I am waiting from a new athlon and will hopefully be doing my own review of that on here as well.

Very nice APU for the price!
I like this APU. I ordered it as part of a HTPC build I started from scratch. I am not overclocking or doing any gaming on it. I am running Ubuntu 13.10 on this currently and it performs as expected, which is well. It is not as quick as some of the higher priced APU's/CPU's as expected, but that's not why I got it. It is not slow by any means either, is very responsive compared to other old hardware I have had, and have lying around. The integrated graphics and price of the APU are the main reasons I purchased this. The graphics work just as well as I need for simply streaming media from the internet and general playback of files on the computer. I can not comment on much else as that's really all I use it for. I think it is a solid CPU that will last a while and has a lot of good features for the price! I would recommend this item! For what it's worth, my computer build is as follows:-Case - Rosewill Micro-ATX mini tower-PSU - Corsair 430W CX430 R-Motherboard - MSI socket FM2/AMD A75-CPU - AMD A4-5300 APU-Ram - this Kingston Hyper X Blu 4gb module-HDD - Spare 100 GB HDD I had lying around.

Much Better Than I Was Expecting!
Had this about 4 months now and I like it.This little processor was better than I expected. Low power usage and good performance. I combined this with an MSI Motherboard, Corsair Vengeance Blue Ram, and Windows 7 64 bit Operating System, Seagate 6 Gb/s hard drive (See below for detailed parts).Windows Experience Index shows 5.9 for total of system combined, but that's due to Hard Drive scoring only 5.9. I have the 6Gb/s Sata Drive but 5.9 is the highest score you can get for standard hard drive. The processor score is 6.2, Ram is 7.3, Graphics is 6.6, Gaming Graphics is 6.6, and Hard Drive is 5.9. Them are the scores on my system. This system works very well for me.Note, After installing windows, be sure to properly install motherboard driver from CD that came with motherboard. If you get a score of 1.0, Reinstall board drivers. Now I have performance and saving on power bill too. It may just pay for itself.Detailed parts list...excluding standard parts (Power supply, Case, DVD player, etc....)Windows 7 64bit OEM Operating SystemMSI FM2-A75MA-E35 FM2 AMD A75 (Hudson D3) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD MOTHERBOARDCorsair Vengeance Blue 8 GB (2X4 GB) PC3-12800 1600mHz DDR3 240-Pin SDRAM Dual Channel Memory Kit CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9BSeagate 6Gb/s Hard Drive

"It's okay" is a very good description
It survives as a daily use CPU, and can do some mild gaming. It was definitely worth the $45+ that I spent on it, given that the editing PC that I put it in has been working great for a year or so.

Great for a basic machine
I used this to build a machine for myself and one for my mom. I am not a heavy gamer, but I do like to play a number of first person shooter games that require decent graphics hardware. I quickly wished I had gone with the A8 or A10. However, I have no complaint about the processor as it was I who mismatched my hardware with my tasks. For my mom's computer where she just surfs the internet, watches youtube and hulu, does email and some word processing, this little processor has been a gem.

Multitasking Nightmare, good as long as you don’t multitask
Everything works in a fluid way when you have one application opened at a time, however when you make the decision to do something like open your web browser while playing a small video you will experience lag, if you play music via CD player or mp3 files while running an application you could experience stutter intermittently.I wouldn't recommend this for those who desires to multitask.

Purchased for HTPC and have also been able to play games
I purchased the AMD A4-5300 APU for a home theater PC build which I was doing. I wanted a chip which had good CPU and GPU performance and at a low price point. If you desire quantifiable results in power draw vs. performance this review is not the place. I will expand upon my experience though. As a HTPC chip this is a great option, in fact it is probably a little overpowered for probably most HTPC systems. I run XMBC and have been able to play any and every form of media from DVDs to 3D HD content. As a by product of using this processor I have been able to use my HTPC for gaming. I've been pleasantly surprised at the gaming performance which is offered by this low cost CPU/GPU. I have personally played Hitman Absolution, Ages of Empires HD, and Dishonored on this HTPC.
