Not necessarily "Chewable"
My toddler is 2.5 and he definitely will not and can not chew these lol these are not a chewable in my opinion but they are very easy to empty into a drink. No bad smells and they seem to taste fine. He drinks them with his juice and all is well 😊

We like the "Bursting Orange Flavor" and added savings
DHA for kids is a tricky business. We don't doubt the health benefits but finding a brand that suits all tastes is impossible. In our household, one son likes Carlson for Kids Chewable DHA so much he bites down on the shell, `drinks' the oil and chews up the shell. The other son pops it in the back of his throat to dodge his taste buds.We previously purchased Childrens DHA 250 mg Strawberry Flavor By Nordic Naturals and gave that product a five-star review. Unfortunately, it never was available through Amazon's Subscribe & Save program, so we switched to Carlson for Kids to save money. With both products, the fish oil supplement has provided our youngest son a marked improvement in his allergies and asthma. One soft gel includes 600mg of fish body oil concentrate, which provides 100 mg of DHA and 50 mg of EPA. Other ingredients listed are: Natural tocopherois, natural orange and tangerine flavors. Soft Gel Shell: Beef gelatin, glycerin, water.Your decision comes down to price and flavor. Carlson for Kids offers a "Bursting Orange Flavor" and Nordic Naturals offers strawberry. We recommend both products. Check Amazon prices regularly so you can get the best savings.Rating: Five stars.

Horrible
These DHA Chewable softgels are not really chewable. They are a hard gel cap and you basically bit into it and it shoots a nasty tasting very fishy tasting fish oil into your mouth. While you are gagging from the horrible fish oil, you have to figure out how to get rid of the very hard gel cap in your mouth. These are so terrible that I just threw them all out. A complete waste of money!

Kids love them, Taste great and give us the essentials
My kids love these. They taste good to me too."The implications of omega-3 deficiency on the brain are profound and span the entire human life cycle. Beginning in pregnancy, premature birth and its potential neurologic complications may result from omega-3 deficiency. Babies who are bottle-fed or born from omega-3-deficient mothers will lack the omega-3 fatty acids necessary for optimal cognitive and visual development. Children deprived of omega-3s may have less ability to pay attention and control impulsive behavior and may be at higher risk for depression. Teenagers and adults with omega-3 deficiency may be more prone to hostility or violence. In aging, the loss of omega-3 fatty acids in the brain may result in a higher risk of stroke, memory problems, or dementia. Individuals of any age without adequate amounts of omega-3 fatty acids in the brain and body may also be at higher risk for depression, bipolar disorder, and possibly other psychiatric disorders." - The Omega3 Connection by Andrew L Stoll MD, page 40Learn more: [...]

Great for Price
My daughter is 10 and struggles at times with swallowing pills. Since this product stated it could be shewed I purchased. She hates the taste of the gel in the capsule. She takes the tablet because it is apart of her regimen for her ADHD. However, I will be looking for something different for the immediate future to get better results with taste.

Taste not horrible but still pretty fishy
I purchased these for my 8yo son who is a little picky with foods/flavors. I wasn't sure how he would feel about the gel cap and the fishy tasting oil that "bursts" in your mouth when you bite the gel cap. I tried them first (without him watching) and couldn't help making a face with the taste of the fish oil. And the gel coating feels like a piece of plastic left over afterward. I spit that part out. Then I gave him one of "his new vitamins!" And he apprehensively chewed on one. Well his face was worse than mine and he wanted to spit it out right away. He spit the gel coating out and I gave him some OJ to wash the taste down. I told him it was okay to spit the coating out aftrr getting the oil out the next time. He then tried a second one with OJ in his mouth at the same time and said that wasn't too bad. About an hour later he told me he could "feel that vitamin in his belly still". I think he was burping the taste so we decided to take them at bedtime the next time. So last night he chewed 2 gel caps while drinking OJ at the same time and then spit out the coatings and he said "it was actually kind of fun". No complaints this morning about burping or an aftertaste. The amount of fish oil that these contain is higher than other children's vitamins and I plan on giving 2 a day to get the recommended amount of at least 1000mg total and hope that it will help him in school....only time will tell on that one.Bottome line. ...so far so good, I would recommend to others.
