An addition to my 522W dash am. Took me 10 minutes to wire in on a Skoda Superb estate and it is a simple plug and play unit. Easy to install and setup, clear picture and provides good footage to the rear of the car. Very pleased with this simple and effective solution to provide more coverage when driving.

I Had a Nextbase 522GW Front View Dashcam & Hardware Fitted by Halfords just before Xmas 2020. A 25 to 45 min job turned into a two hour installation... I have a 2014 Ford Focus (Hatchback) the installer could not get it to power up when the ignition were turned on... Even used a second Installer to double check all were fitted all ok. Both Said i would need to take it into ford to install correctly.. I knew what the issue were all the way along.. i simply played along with it as long as i possibly could.. Most of the electrics does not work correctly when either the Drivers or Passenger door is left open. As it were geting close two two hours and not happy with the advice given, i said i will try it with the engine running.. Bingo The 522W Powered up... So i complained about my time being wasted... I got Refunded the £35 Fitting Fee + a £15 Gift Voucher...The Money were spent on the Rear Camera and i am so pleased by the quality of the recordings... This were Fitted By myself in around ten - fifteen minutes max.. Bare in mind that i am one who do not like cables showing at all but the best i could do is in the pic as it needs a little amount to cover the the Hatchback Space required for the opening... I have been using this rear cam for two days now and is working as it should... Just have to watch the cable if i need to fill the boot, And to keep an eye on the front cam every so often to see it keeps a very good line up of the road behind me.

Easy to fit and does the job

This is a reasonable priced addition to add rear view to the current second generation of Nextbase dashcams (from the 322GW onwards), and adequately performs it task.Installation is very straight forward, simply having to connect the supplied cable to the front camera, running the cable under the vehicle headliner (easy enough), to bring the cable to the rear window or hatch/boot of the vehicle and then affixing the camera mount etc., in its final position. In my case, I threaded the cable through the rubber grommet/cable sleeve between the vehicle and tailgate, so the camera cabling was fully hidden.The camera mount sticks to the rear window with a strong self-adhesive pad (similar to the front mount), but it's at this point that Nextbase have really dropped the ball on the camera design.The actual camera simply attaches to the mount by a (reasonable) strong magnet, BUT the magnet and the spherical design of the product means the camera can be very easily knocked off its required position, there's no "clamp action" and this introduces a major failing in my opinion. This probably wouldn't be such an issue with a fixed rear window (saloon), but for the estate/hatch/SUV brigade, the camera can be vulnerable to being knocked, and if left un-noticed, the user might just find the rear view footage to be less that useful when needed.Nextbase, you really need to improve this, it's the only disappointing aspect of this product.

Bought to go with Nextbase 522gw but will now be using with 322 gw. So not sure how will work on this model. Had good picture quality on 522 gw model and easy to switch between back and front picture on screen. . One of its best features is how unintrusive it is in the rear window. It’s small and does not interfere with vision. Need to look at wiper sweep as first time fitted centre but wiper missed in rain. So have moved over to one side for best vision when raining and wipers on. Would recommend

Plug and play which was great, plenty of cable to run to the front of the car via trim.

Just fitted today, seems very good. Good picture. Records both front and back at the same time. Also photos are both front and back too. Overall looks very good. Fully recommend.

The final part for my Nextbase GW322 dashcam fit. Had the front already, and decided that for the odd idiotic driver on the road, it would be prudent to fit the rear screen camera.I was a bit daunted by the fitting of it, but when I started it was quite enjoyable. Having to fit to my Juke, I managed quite easily to route the cable through the rubber transfer tubing between the hatch and the car body. After that it was as easy as pie. With a simple push connection to the dashcam, it was done.It automatically records the video, and can be viewed easily by using your phone app. Takes a while to load, but after about 5 minutes, the front and back footage is easily located. Go to dashcam on your phone app; click the 3 dots and select, front, back or all. Done and dusted.Only one point to mention; when fitted, If the rear camera cable is twisted or in any kind of tension, it can swivel slightly on the magnetic mount. To avoid this, I attached a couple of self adhesive hooks, and then wound the cable around one, then the other.I was very happy with the fitting and the rear camera. I am a little bit more reassured that if the worst happens, I've got it covered.
