Replacement Vinyl Shutter Hangers
I got tired of looking at my sun bleached shutters on my house and decided to paint them. In order to do that I had to take them down. Vinyl shutter locks are disposable, sing use items. So, once I cut out the old ones they were useless. In order to put my shutters back up after I painted them, I needed new locks. Because I used a custom paint, I could not use pre-color locks. I needed the paintable ones. The paint adhered to the locks pretty well and the color blended seamlessly with the shutter's. I installed them in brick and siding and since they were replacements, the holes were already there. Putting them in siding was much easier and more forgiving. Putting them back on the brick and lining them up were a bit challenging, but I was able to make it happen. If you are installing the shutters up 15 feet high, like I was, You want to be able to make it as easy as possible. One thing that I learned to run a drill bit through the holes to clear the holes of anything loose in there, including broken pieces of the previous locks. I also recommend buying more locks than you need. I had a couple of them break because I was trying to hammer them into a hole that had pieces of the old lock. And I had to cut others because they were not seating properly and as I have mentioned, they are single use. The locks breaking had nothing to do with their construction. They are pretty solid. I was more my fault. One final thing to consider is do you want to paint them locks before you install them or after. I painted them before I installed them by using the box they came in as a holder. I understood that I would probably have to touch them up after I hammer them in, which I did, but wanted at least one coat on before I installed them. You could also wait until you instal them to paint them. It is pretty much six and one hand and a half dozen in the other. Its whatever your preference is. These are some very nice replacement locks that seem to be holding my newly painted shutters very securely to my house. I highly recommend them.

These work great!!
I live in GA so there is clay and rock. I had no problem using these. With a rubber mallet they went right in easily. A couple broke only because of tree roots. They are black and look great. There is some bendability and the length is good. They definitely got the job done. I would buy again.

Fits perfectly, and easy to do.

Flexible and tougher than standard ones
They are of much better quality and more flexible, which makes them break less. The ones I got with my new shutters broke, so I had to buy these. Highly recommend.

Cheap quality but they do the job
Cheap plastic, but they function like the old ones which broke off with the wind. Buy extra, you will most likely break a couple. If I had to do it over again I would just use stainless or galvanized fasteners. Plus was they color matched very well with my shutters. One gripe, nowhere does it mention the size for the hole. You should drill with a 7/32", make sure you go in deep enough to accommodate the entire fastener. Then drill only the shutter with a 1/2" so it's easier to get the fastener in, otherwise it will stick out to much and you will bend it trying to get it in.

These provide an easy way to secure shutters and they look great! I bought these to replace a similar product when I painted my vinyl shutters. The colour was a great match for the shutters. I used a light mallet to hammer them into the existing 1/4” holes in my brick. I followed the advice of another review and purchased an extra couple of packages. As noted, if they aren’t lined up to the hole, they will bend and break. I broke 3 of them during install so I was glad I bought extra.

The shutter Loks worked flawlessly. Just used a small mallet and softly pounded on the head and they secured the shutters to the side of the house in the original drilled holes.Had some high winds a few days later and shutters remained solidly fastened.
