Compact, Reliable, and Top-Notch Quality
I've owned the DEWALT ATOMIC 20V MAX* Cordless Drill, 1/2-Inch for over a year now, and it has been an invaluable tool in my collection. This drill is more compact than other models I've used, making it perfect for tight spaces and easy to handle for prolonged periods.Despite its smaller size, it doesn't compromise on power or performance. It has proven to be extremely dependable, tackling a wide range of tasks with ease. The battery life is impressive, and the overall build quality is what you'd expect from DEWALT—top-notch.DEWALT has always been a great brand, and this drill is a testament to their commitment to quality and reliability. If you're looking for a compact and powerful cordless drill, I highly recommend the DEWALT ATOMIC 20V MAX*. It’s been a game-changer for my projects!

Light, powerful, and easy to use
Best drill I've had. Has more power on high speed setting than most drills I've used have on low. Torque settings are precise and easy to use, and the angled flashlight on the base is life changing. Would be nice if it stayed on an extra couple of seconds.Batteries charge fast and last ages, and the drill doesn't lose power as the batteries wind down like the Ryobi this replaced, they're full power until depleted. This drill is stronger than any of the bits I've put in it so far. Hasn't bogged down even on high speed. I'm not sure what scenario I'd need the bigger version for that wouldn't just snap my driver/drill bit anyway.

Nice and lightweight, easy to use
I specifically contacted DeWalt to buy their lightest 1/2" drill to use drilling holes in lightweight materials. DeWalt tools seem to be high quality and a great value for the price, if only they'd stop sourcing these from China; South Korea or India would be a more politically friendly partner, and yes, it matters to customers like myself.

It’s a dewalt. Just get it!
I have this same drill that I bought from Home Depot. I haven’t noticed any difference in them. It seems legit. Battery life is great. Power is very surprising for being a smaller drill. The size and weight is perfect. I love having the clip on it so I can have it hang from my pocket or belt loop it’s perfect if you’re working from a ladder or just in general because it’s never out of reach. I have dropped this thing multiple times. The only drop that damaged it was from about 5 foot and the battery hit the concrete first. All it did was put a small crack in the battery but it did nothing to performance. Out of oh probably 30 times of it falling onto a concrete floor it has a bunch of scuffs on it but still works the same as it did out of the box. I even used it in the rain once and no problems

I hope this one lasts longer than the last one.
This is my second DEWALT ATOMIC 20V MAX drill. I bought one about a year ago, and with only moderate use, as I'm not a professional, it broke. The switch that changes from forward to reverse above the trigger stopped working! It started getting a bit loose, and finally it became unable to switch directions. I initially didn't want to get another Dewalt since this one should have lasted much longer with my level of use, but now I still have two good 20V Dewalt batteries/ charger. A complete drill with batteries and charger would be way more expensive, so for $99 I purchased just the drill body w/o batteries. When it was working I loved this drill, as it was shorter and lighter than my others and had plenty of power. But unless I just got a dud the first time, the Dewalt quality seems to have been lacking. Wanted to give it only three stars, but it WAS a great little lightweight drill, so four stars. I just hope this one lasts longer than my first one.

Light and compact with the power of larger cordless drills.
I have both Makita and DeWalt tools. This certain drill is by far better then Makitas comparable drill due to the way it feels in your hand and while in use it seems to well the balanced. It nice that Dewalt sells this in a bare tool option and most importantly they don't penalize you for not buying their complete kit by giving it agreat price tag.
