what colour does it dry? I need a white finish!

The last time I used AquaSeal, it was the same color as Shoe Goo: A clear-yellowish solid plastic when it dried. Similar to thin plastic tubing. Not "yellow" but nowhere near white. I don't think you'll find any urethane adhesive that has been pigmented to look white.

Can this be used on the top of very soft flexible tennis shoes? I have a small rip in the top of my shoe.

I haven't used it specifically for tennis shoes, but after over a year-and-half jumping in the pool for water aerobics, the seal for my water shoes is still perfectly holds the insole to the whole base remains nicely flexible. I'd recommend giving Aquaseal a try.

A seam in the rain fly of my tent completely came unglued. Would this work to repair it? Or would would the seam seal adhesive be better?

It won't hold well if tent fly is Polyester - tent flies often are. It also won't work it it's a Silnylon. In most other scenarios - yes. It's interesting how often Sellers are ignorant about their product. Well, Aquaseal is a good one, it basically sells itself. Local sport equipment stores usually have it cheaper.
