As so many others I bought this item for use with a Scottish Highlander ensemble. The Dirk is a really well-made and nice-looking piece and quite battle-ready. It's made in Pakistan, but the blades coming from places like there or India have vastly improved in recent years. Even most of Museum Replica's blades are being made in India nowadays, and it's made Damascus steel blades much more affordable. The only complaints I have is there was a bit of rust on the blade in spite of being heavily greased but nothing that a little oil and elbow grease couldn't fix. And Like other reviewers have already stated the case leaves a bit to be desired, but since I'm a leatherworker I can fix that as well. All in all, an excellent value for the price!

Fantastic craftsmanship, sharp blade, and prompt shipping. Well balanced as well. Only negative is that for a period Highland piece the relief work on the sheath doesn't hold up. But I can remedy that myself.

I bought this for my outfit at the Highland games, and got many compliments on it. Solid, well weighted, and the blade is spectacular. Even the handle finish looks like a vintage knife to most.

Hello! I love the look and fFeel of this item. I am wondering however, has anyone else had some issues with rust? The item is in good shape, well made, looks great. But, yeah, I think the blade has accumulated some rust over time. When it arrived, it was drenched in oil. I wiped a lot of that off, but now the blade is exposed to the air. So now it is oxidizing. Can I clean that off? Will steel wool work? Will the surface be damaged? I will oil the blade again afterwards, but what to do before that?

Love this knife, it works great with my "Great Kilt" warrior outfit. It can very sharp, I'm a tool guy and a cook, I know what a sharp knife is. Trim strips and brass pin are a bit "cheesy" but over all love it, feels good in my hand any as a former Army Infantry guy I wouldn't mind having this on the battlefield like my old Gerber Commando that I would carry.

Could not be happier! Order came faster than the delivery date. Fit and finish is good. Blade came very sharp. Damascus is top notch. Knife smith does great work for the price.

I shall update this when I get it pictured, but so far it is a cool looking item. Seems pretty solid. My complaint is that the picture shows that it is a darker sheath, but I got a light brown one (wasn't really looking for light colors to match everything). With that being said, can't really beat the price of this if you are just using it to look at or wear for a costume/garb.
