Great switch, minor inconveniences but great support
I have nothing to say but good things about J-Tech. For the most part, this product is great. I also bought an HDMI splitter (not to be mistaken with a switch, a splitter duplicates an HDMI signal so it can go to two places) and it works flawlessly.Pros:-It works as intended and I haven't had any issues with the switch functionality.-Small size, feels sturdy. They didn't skimp on quality.-The automatic switching feature is fantastic. I can understand how it could be a problem for people that have universal remotes and turn many things on at once, or if you accidentally turn one of your devices on. However, this is a simple and effective design for an inexpensive product so I don't understand how people expect it will use some intelligent switching device that senses all of that and does the right thing 100% of the time. I personally never experienced an issue with it, it has never been intrusive by switching for no reason or anything.- Depending on the HDMI cable, it may not need the power adapter to power it. With one of my cables in the input port, it worked completely fine. After I tried another cable in the same port, there were artifacts on my screen an it would randomly turn off an on, signs that it wasn't getting any power.-Their customer support is fantastic. I have been in contact with J-Tech for like 20 emails now about these aforementioned inconveniences and return related questions, and they have been super helpful and even generous. For my issues below, they sent me possible solutions for free.Cons (minor inconveniences really):- Red light above the active input is too bright. Nothing electrical tape can't fix.-The HDMI input port is on the side of the switch, which means a cable has to bend to connect to it. This creates tension, or if you're putting the switch in a tight space, you may not have enough room to connect it. I bought this product here to fix this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004PVW1DY/ref=cm_cd_asin_lnk Now it faces behind the switch like the rest of the ports.-The barrel (the cylindrical piece that plugs into the switch) of the power cord is too long for the switch, so a good portion sticks out. This is harmless, they even sent me a different kind of adapter that fits for free, but they should make that adapter come with the unit for all of these switches.-This is an issue that I am personally experiencing, it may not happen to anyone else. After a few days of the IR remote working properly, it just suddenly stopped working. Buttons wouldn't change the input no matter what I pressed. I checked the battery of the remote, even held it inches away from the switch when I pressed the buttons, and still nothing happens. They sent me another remote for free, and unfortunately that didn't help either. I am about to send them back this unit to get a replacement, but I have to pay for return shipping. I'll update this review once it arrives. As you can see there are some issues, but nothing a little extra effort and patience won't take care of. You may not even have an issue and the minor annoyances might not matter to you. It works great otherwise, and it would be hard to beat their support. I highly recommend this product, you can't beat it at this price.

Happy and satisfied
I needed a HDMI switch for my new TV because I only have two HDMI ports and I wanted to hook up my cable box, my x-box, and my Blu-ray player. I did not feel like plugging and un-plugging the x-box or Blu-ray player.I bought a PORTTA PET0301S 3x1 Port HDMI Switch/Switcher 1080P Supports 3D with IR Wireless Remote Ultra High and it did not work out well for me. 1st it feels and looks cheaply made, that is why maybe it was cheaper. 2nd the remote work (if you wanted to use it) IR wireless. 3rd it did not work for me like I wanted it to. I could not get the Blu-ray player to work unless I had the x-box turned on. The x-box shuts itself off after a few minutes when not in use and then I would loose connection for my Blu-ray player. I did not want to have the x-box on when I did not need to have it on either.I bellied upped and paid the extra dollars for this device. It came with a power supply which I thought I need and the other unit did not come with a power supply. I liked the looks of it right out of the box (it does not look like the picture that is displayed on Amazon). It looked solid and the housing was metal and not plastic. I plugged in the power supply and then I plugged in the Blu-ray player and the x-box. It worked just the way a switch is supposed to work. I can turn on the Blu-ray player or the x-box or both. The only thing that I did not like about this and why I am taking off a star is because of the red led in the front. It is super bright and a distraction. I unplugged the power supply so the led would not stay on all the time. I figured that if the power supply was unplugged that the remote would not work and found out that was not the case. I could also turn on the Blu-ray or the x-box or both with the power supply plugged in. I had to turn the unit around so the red led would quit blinding me.A small unit that does not take up much space and well built too.As of now I would recommend this product.

Delivers as promised but make sure port layout will work for equipment.
What switch is connecting:Vizio E24-C1 smart tv to:Roku SEMacBook Air (through Thunderbolt hdmi adaptorPROS:1. Switch is small2. Remote works well3. Switch performs task well. No problems switching between inputs. All ports functional.CONS:1. Layout of ports a bit awkward. With the port that goes to the tv on the side, there are few options for placement as the IR for the remote must have line-of-sight. However, I found a way to make it work for my set-up.2. Size of the switch is easily overpowered by the weight of the cords. It would be nice if it came with a specifically designed holder, even if optional add-on at higher cost.3. There is a slight delay when switching but that is to be expected and maybe isn't really a CON at all.I will update review if anything changes. I've been using the switch for about a week.UPDATE: I have been using the switch for one month. This morning, when I selected HDMI input on the TV, the TV would briefly show it was connecting to wifi then power off. I attempted several times to go to HDMI input with same results. I then tested the HDMI cable by removing it from the switch port and connecting it directly to the Roku. It worked fine. I then reconnected the HDMI cable to the switchbox and again selected HDMI input on the TV. This time I got a message, "Retrieving data," and the connection was successful. I will update this review again if this happens again. I would like to see the J-Tech people weigh in on why this happened. Before this event, the switch has worked perfectly. I have not changed any of the connections nor moved the switch. I'm a very basic user.
