I'm happy to invest in these
It took a few tries to cut the coil accurately. I'm left handed sland it was cutting straight. After a couple of YouTube researches, I found one that said hold it with the red dot facing downward instead of upward where I can see it , then bend it a little to the right. Im still trying to master the perfect cut but these crimpers are good. I have it a 4⭐ because I'm still trying to cut it correctly.

Learn to Use
I hoped for a crimper and not a cutter. I must learn to use this product. The teeth are snug and cut rather than crimp if the handles are fimly closed together. I wish there were no way to leave a rating because of my skill in handling the tool. I did work at a bindery back in my student days running the machine to insert the plastic binding and at that time I used a crimper tool on some items that were not automated. I must have forgotten how to use it. The tool is high quality and the plastic on the handles does give a bit of cushion to the hand.

I have used over 200 spines in books I make and this tool is perfect. I took it out of the box and never looked back. If you use the plastic spines you need this tool

Disappointed in these pliers. The cut section they leave on the spiral binding appears too short to prevent unraveling and the turn-over is a very shallow angle. I have resorted to using a heated pair of flat nose pliers and snipping off any excess binding. Works a treat.

Arrived late. No instructions included. Found several videos on YouTube so I am confident I was using them as I should be. The crimp this tool leaves is too short, so it doesn't stop the paper from coming out of the plastic coil. It also leaves a sharp edge. I have sent them back.
