Perfect to add a SUV hatch sensor
EDIT: This just paid for itself, and more. I installed it in August 2024. Today 1/1/2025, for the first time, it save me from closing my garage door onto the open hatch. If I could increase my rating to 6 stars, I would.I bought this Retro-Reflective Photoelectric Beam Sensor to add a SUV hatch sensor to my Genie garage door opener. The opener has the “Save-T-Beam” system where the Source and Sensor both have 2 wires and are connected in parallel to the opener. The new sensor requires connection to specific + and – DC voltage wires while the Safe-T-Beam system does not. So, I needed to use a voltmeter to identify the correct polarity. The attached picture shows how I wired it.How it works – The 12V DC is picked up using the Blue & Brown wires. The “OK” signal is disconnected if the new beam is interrupted by the SUV hatch. The original sensor at the floor operates just as it always has. I can’t guarantee it, but it seems that the same principle would work with other brands/types as well – you just need to understand where to interrupt the “OK” signal.

Best customer service ever!
The sensor on my Ramset gait opener took a dive and needed to be replaced. I contacted Ramset and they wanted $200 for a new sensor. I contacted a local distributor and they had to order one from Ramset. I found a generic version at Supreform at a reasonable price and figured if it doesn't integrate with my gate I'm only out 40 bucks. The wiring configuration was different from my original so I sent a picture of the controller board on my Ramset unit asking for, "an idiots guide to integration". Honestly, I did not even think I would get a response. What I did get was and overview of my current circuit board noting that I could not power the sensor from that board as is. They sent me a link to a power supply for 6 bucks with instuctions specific to my application...."idiot proof" This company is awesome, the customer service was outstanding.

No false reflections + excellent parking aid!
I tried a cheaper ($20) one for my project but it did not properly sense a broken beam. It would see the reflection from my truck as if it were from the supplied reflector. True to the description I don’t have a false reflection issue with this one. The project you ask? This is mounted at bumper level on my garage door rail. When the beam breaks, a small led light bar illuminates. Once I am clear of the door, ie the vehicle is ‘in’, the light turns off. I am able to park just inside the garage door, not too deep in the garage and with no concern the closing door will hit my bumper.

Completely Satisfied. Top Quality. Great Customer Support.
I was skeptical but absolutely pleased with this product. The quality is top notch and my one question was answered by their support team via email in a couple hours. A+!!Not sure why the other reviewer only gave it one star—it’s not this company’s fault they don’t know what they need. It’s waterproof and easily covers my 24 foot driveway entrance. I rigged it to a siren on a relay timer and have the whole thing plugged into a smart switch (so I can schedule it’s operation). Easy as pie.

Diagram states infrared, but the beam is at least partly visible RED light
Diagram states infrared, but the beam is at least partly visible RED light. Beam is visible. This will help with beam aiming but I don't know if it will spook animals at night into taking another path to avoid the beam.
