Excellent support on Linux.
I've gone through 3-4 different usb-c docks in an attempt to find something that consistently works with my hardware setup and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. This dock seems to be the best value for what it is. It's well-supported on Fedora 42, all the components work, everything I plug into the usb ports behaves normally. I also like that it comes with its own power brick. The way I see it, if you're using a docking station with your laptop, it defeats the purpose if you have to crawl under your desk and unplug the power supply every time you undock it. In all, an excellent hub that solved multiple problems for me. Highly recommended.

Make sure you plug into the correct USB-C port
T480 Linux user here. The dock kept disconnecting randomly. I tried everything to fix it. It turns out I was connecting it to the wrong USB-C port. I was connecting it to the power port. It's supposed to be connected to the USB-C port inside the thunderbolt port below that. After that it works great. No complaints.

Great device, but missing one feature that was listed in the description
I use this product with the X1 Carbon 6th generation. It works great and I love having a button I can press to turn on the laptop without having to open the screen. My only issue with this product is that the description at the bottom contained the following text: (Dock has the ability to support DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 for max 1 x 4K @ 60 Hz display or 2 x 4K @ 30 Hz displays, but the real video output would depend on the system’s output). This is not true. This product is only capable of 1 monitor above 1080p or 2 monitors at 1080p. The next model up is capable of dual monitors above 1080. I use this with a dual monitor setup, but can't take advantage of using both monitors on the same device. It's not the end of the word as I have a work around, but I did purchase this under the impression it would support two 4k monitors. My workaround is that I use this device to hookup to one 4k monitor and then I use the second USB-C or HDMI out port on the X1 to connect to the second monitor.

Good Docking Station for a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon, Gen 7
I have become spoiled using 2 external monitors with another laptop I used for several years. Current laptops' commuting abilities make them usable for me for all my needs whether in the office, traveling, or in class. However, the small single laptop screen is not as easy to view with my eyes as it was 10 years ago. I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon, Gen 7 based on previous good performance of an earlier Thinkpad. This docking station works well, but like most new laptops it connects via the super/lightening/all in one USB C connection. I would prefer the older style connector, but this most be the way PC makers want to go. The setup was fairly quick and worked almost like plug and play with my two existing monitors. I had to invest a few minutes to set up the monitor displays as I wanted, but this probably the case with any docking station. I looked at the cheaper knockoff docking stations, but was not impressed with their reviews. Some also do not charge the laptop which makes them almost worthless. This Lenovo branded dock was certainly not cheap and I probably paid a premium for the name. So far it is working as advertised to charge my laptop and seamlessly switch to the external monitors when I plug it into my laptop.

Unstable and made Mac run hot
I bought this over a year ago. I had trouble from day 1. It would not keep a constant connection and anytime my computer slept I had to unplug and re-plug everything in. It would CONSTANTLY drop the USB plug-and-play camera I had in my system most of all components. I noticed my laptop running hot, so I moved it, added a fan, took off the case, tried 100 things but at least it was powering my screens. Granted it wouldn't let me plug in 1 HDMI and 1 DP, I had to plug in the HDMI and use my second USB-C on my Mac to power the DP with a connector (another cost to make this system work)... Well our power went out last week and after trying for an hour to get it reconnected with a white light instead of orange light and to stop the GOD AWFUL high pitched whining noise.... But I couldn't! So I ordered a Plugable 6950 and its been a GAME CHANGER. I wish the power had gone out after I got it rigged to work last year! The driver was super easy to download, my computer is cooler than its ran in over a year, I have both DP and HDMI plugged into it, and have USB ports to spare! Definitely wish I had returned this docking station and not wasted $200 on it! I googled for drivers, I googled and read tech blogs, and I googled to read tech customer service blogs - wasn't worth the time or work!

Does exactly what it's supposed to
Not much else to say since the product itself is pretty self explanatory in its specs. If you just need a pretty simple docking station that allows display out and charges your laptop at the same time, then this seems to be the best bang for buck out of the docking stations I researched. It also has a pretty healthy amount of ports considering its size. I don't travel for work, but if I did, this charging station would also be perfect for travel since it is so compact. The only thing to consider is that power brick as well, which is more or less the same size as the docking station. I haven't had any connectivity or power issues, seems like a very reliable unit. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who just needs a basic laptop docking station.

Great little dock
Love it. I use the same set up at my office at my company and my office at home, each with a 32” BenQ UHD professional 4K display. One USBC cable to plug in and out. Works seamlessly. Would buy again and recommend in a heartbeat.
