Still hilarious after 32 years!
When we were expecting our 2nd child, my son was gifted this book to get him ready for the new baby. Well...he's 35 years old now, and getting ready for HIS 2nd baby, so of course his first child needs to prepare for her impending sibling. This book, in the most hilarious way possible, explains everything you could ever need to know about how to take care of a baby (not!) as seen through the eyes of an alien species to which human babies are...well...alien! Laugh-out-loud funny, and a great way to make welcoming a new baby less daunting. Great gift for first-time parents, too!

AMAZING FOR KIDS & ADULTS
Just like all of Willis' kids' books, this one is beautifully illustrated and loads of fun to read with a child, grandchild or to oneself. Willis is a quite clever and positive author. LOVE HER!

Very funny book
I live in England and when my family here visited from USA, I read this book to my grand daughters who loved it and giggled all the way through it. As it belonged to my grandson in England, I managed to source a copy through Amazon and have it sent to their home in Atlanta. They now have their own copy and enjoy reading it.

A cute book that can work well for an inference lesson too
I bought this book after reading about it in the (excellent) teacher book "Picture Perfect Lessons." There it was advertised as a great book to use for a beginning of year science lesson on observations vs. inferences. I plan on using it for just that. However, although I haven't taught that lesson yet, I have read the book to my own preschool-age children at home. It's been a big hit with them and we've read it at least a half-dozen times already. Nice!

Wonderfully humorous
Purchased this book as a part of a unit on inference versus observation as described in Picture Perfect Science Lessons: Using Children's Books. to Guide Inquiry. Earthlets is wonderfully humorous. It is a great read with a preschooler who is adapting to a new baby in the house. I may just tuck one in my next new baby shower gift. New parents benefit from a humorous perspective of their challenges.

Given "2 thumbs up" by a recent group of 2nd graders, their teacher and a college professor
Love, love, LOVE this book...and your kids will too! Aside from the vivid pictures and clever story, it's a great tool for teaching inference to younger children. Recently a group of 2nd graders used this book for a classroom "literature circle" book club, and they all gave it 2 thumbs up! I can't wait to buy the other 2 titles....hoping they are even half as enjoyable!

One of my kids' all time favorite books
They're grown up now, but they still laugh about it. We must have read it hundreds of times. The premise is a professor teaching a class of aliens what earth is all about. He gets the details right, but the interpretations are all wrong. Plus Tony Ross's illustrations are fabulous. Every single one of the books which he illustrates is hysterical.

The whole family enjoyed it!
Dr. Xargle's Book of Earthlets was a pleasure to read with my 1st, 4th, and 6th graders. The whole family enjoyed it!
