Great stuff, great company, great price. So let's take a deep dive into this because I love DLPA it's amazing. I got clean off heroin almost a year and a half ago. I run at least 1.5 miles 4-5 times a week, sometimes I'll end up on a lot longer run. It really helps me keep my head in the game. I'm also on methadone and it's absolutely a life saver as well. I bought DLPA about six months after I got clean, I was lifting weights maybe once every 7 to 10 days but I drank protein shakes every day twice a day. I didn't realize that it already had a LOT of l-phenylalanine in it. But at this time I felt good and didn't notice any benefit, I'm guessing cause I already was getting all the phenylalanine I needed more or less. So fast forward to about 3 months ago, I was struggling with anxiety and energy/motivation and NOT drinking protein shakes as I quit lifting any weights because I injured my hands at work. I was getting ready to go to the methadone clinic in the morning. Usually I feel a very mild state of wihdrawal in the morning before I dose. It had been a while since I took some DLPA, and up until this point the only benefit I noticed is it made caffeine more effective. I took 1000mg of DLPA and within 45 mintues I felt postively adjusted in most of the ways I needed. The minor state of withdrawal was almost completely eliminated. After this I continued to take it and am so grateful I stumbled across this supplement. I was at a point where I felt like I had hit a wall in my recovery from heroin. I would remember how much better I felt when I first got sober and had almost accepted it was just a honeymoon phase. Not at all the case. Phenylalanine helps your brain refill your dopamine and norepinephrine, which are extremely important neurotransmitters. So apparently, I was just not getting enough in my diet. But it makes a huge difference. As a former addict using supplements, my brain is always looking for a strong noticeable effect. But I was too focused on that to pick out the benefits in the past. So when I was in this low dopamine/norepinephrine state I actually noticed it. Some of it gets metabolized into phenylethlyamine (PEA) which is a strong supplement that resembles amphetamine/MDMA in effect depending on dosage. In closing, I'm so glad I found this because I was at a shitty place mentally and it was starting to threaten my sobriety. Now I take approximately 2000mg or 2 grams a day sometimes more. I start to notice my mood drop and anxiety increase if I stop taking it. Ususally within 48-72 hours I start to feel my underlying anxiety disorder take the front seat again. That all is to say, theres no withdrawal or anything, I just notice the difference so much when I run out. I've tried so many supplements that did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, probably 95% of them, but this one actually works. If you're feeling down, no motivation and anxious about stuff more than you normally should, give this a try. TL;DR DLPA Helps significantly with motivation, mood, anxiety and focus. Absolute game changer for me. Pairs well with caffeine. It pairs AMAZINGLY with exercise too. It's cheap as hell and helps with my mental health without feeling drugged in any way whatsoever. You just feel naturally good.

THE PACKAGING: I just finished up a batch of the another brand (180 pills size) of DLPA and kept the bottle. I put my DLPA powder in that using a clean sheet of copy paper wrapped in a cone as a funnel. I bought the 500-gram size and about half of the bag fits in this plastic bottle. The rest is zip locked in the cupboard. I can see how over time if you continued to open and close it that it would get filled with powder and no longer work. THE VALUE: The 500-gram size is basically quadruple the amount I was getting in the other brand for about half of what I would spend for 180 capsules. I guess I way over-estimated how much was in a 500-gram bag. THE MIXING: It doesn't like water that much, it kind of floated around on top of it and made bubbles filled with powder when I used my hand mixer. Today I tried mixing it with a bit of coconut oil and that seemed to work a little better, but it does jump all over the place. I have settled on just putting it in my mouth and chasing it with water. THE TASTE: I am not a fan on the taste (it kind of tastes like Sweet and Low). THE EFFECT: I have fibromyalgia and insomnia and I use DLPA for pain management. Almost immediately, there is a feeling of clarity and almost euphoria. The clarity lasts for hours and the euphoria fades to just a faint feeling nice calm. It doesn’t keep me awake and I seem to have more refreshing sleep and different than usual dreams. I adapted to it within a few days and now I just take it at night to maintain the amount needed for pain management. MY DOSAGE: I use 2/3 teasp. twice a day (which is close to what I was taking before) and the effect is immediate almost as soon as it hits my mouth. In fact, I may go down to 1/2 a teasp. since it seems to work so quickly. My VERDICT: Very happy with my purchase. The product seems to be the real deal and the price is excellent. I will look into buying more products from this vendor.

This is a good product if you tend to get bouts where you feel sad or lazy which happees to me especially in the winter. The first time I took this I had been feeling down and just wanted to sit on the couch, but an hour after taking this I reorganized half my kitchen cabinets! I alternate using this with using L-tyrosine which I also get from bulk supplements. The L-phenylalanine in this is used by the body to make L-tyrosine which then can be used to make dopamine. I alternate this supplement with L-tyrosine as although both cause formation of dopamine they have some different effects. Do this supplement has L-phenylalanine which the body converts to L-dopamine but it also has D-form of phenylalanine in it. That seems to help make me more perky so if I am feeling lazy I opt for this one. I am migraine prone and this one seems to make me less likely to get a headache then L-tyrosine, but if I take a super B vitamin before hand or if I feel a headache coming on this gets rid of the tyrosine induced migraine problem anyway. Evidently B vitamins, are necessary for the tyrosine to be converted to dopamine. I did start out slow taking about 100 mg initially until I got a feel for how it would affect me. The first few times I got tired a few hours after taking it. Anyway, this system seems to work for me WRT getting my mood straight your mileage may vary! I love the company and feel like I am getting a pure supplement at a price much reduced from having to buy the encapsulated form. The packaging is good, very clean and easy to reseal. I keep a measuring spoon for this and my other bulk supplements right in the cabinet next to the bag so I can take my dose and close the package right back up and put it back in my cabinet. Easy!
