Ruger Mark II & III / Browning BuckMark Fiber Optic Sight

Replacing original front sight on a Ruger 22/45 .22 semi auto pistol greatly helped visualizing the sight compared to the all black undercut original front sight. Even painting the front sight just wouldn't allow it to easily be picked up visually because of the sight design being undercut, but replacing original with this worked great. Very straight forward replacement (remove original standard screw and sight and replace with new sight and supplied Allen screw treated with medium set Lock-tight). Light tube helps in all light conditions and the medium diameter of tube allows for good fine sight picture. Sight seems plenty durable for general use, not flimsy or susceptible to easy damage. After doing my 22/45 I ordered a second and installed on my older Mark I. The footprint of the new sight is slightly smaller than the original sight on the Mark I so you can see bluing edge difference where the bluing was unworn and protected under the original sight, but that is only a minor cosmetic factor due to age of the firearm. The rounded taper of the sight fit both firearms well (they have bull barrels). Good product.

Nice sight for browning buckmark camper. If fit perfectly,looks great and is so much brighter than the factory black sight. It was easy to change. Use a 3/32 Allen key. Heat up the key, get it hot,insert it into the screw and in a few seconds the screw will come out easily. A little blue loc tite for assembly and good as new.

Bright, Crisp Sight Picture with Easy Customization The HIVIZ fiber optic front sight is a big step up from the stock black front sight on my Ruger. The difference in visibility is immediate—especially in lower light or against darker targets. The included LitePipes in green, red, and white give some flexibility, and it’s fun to experiment with which color works best depending on the backdrop and lighting. For me, the green really pops. Build quality is excellent. This is all steel, so it feels solid and secure once installed. The sight sits cleanly on the barrel, and while some mention a slight overhang, I barely noticed it and it doesn’t interfere with shooting in any way. On the range, sight acquisition is noticeably quicker and more intuitive. Installation takes a bit of care. The factory screw is often set with Loctite, so a little heat helps with removal. I recommend having a tube of blue Loctite on hand for reinstalling the new sight securely. The included key for swapping LitePipes works as expected, though it’s a small piece that you’ll want to keep track of. If I had to nitpick, the footprint on older Ruger models may expose a faint outline of the bluing where the original sight sat. That’s purely cosmetic, but worth knowing. Bottom line: A well-made, highly visible fiber optic front sight that dramatically improves target acquisition over stock sights. A worthwhile upgrade for Ruger or BuckMark owners who want a brighter, faster sight picture.

I bought this sight to install on my son's Single Six but it did not appear to fit that firearm. I ended up putting it onto a Ruger Mark III 5.5" bull barrel pistol, and it was fine there. Just be aware that neither the original screw or the supplied screw appears to work with this sight for installation onto the Single Six. Ruger sells a similar sight that does work. This is a very nice sight that comes with several red, green, and white replacement fiber optic tubes, although my own experience has been that the tubes last indefinitely if you take care to keep cleaning solvent off of them, which some claim can cause the fiber optic tube to turn cloudy over time. I myself have not experienced this yet, but I have been careful about the solvent. This sight really makes it easier to acquire a good sight picture. The bright dot is very welcome. A good sight. Huge improvement over the factory flat black front sight. Now I can actually see the front sight in all light conditions. It comes with 6 different colors of fiber optic LitePipes that you can easily change to optimize the front sight color to your preference. You will need a heat gun to preheat the factory front sight screw for removal as it was installed with Loctite to resist vibration. Make sure you have a tube of Loctite Blue on hand when you reinstall that screw to retain your new sight. The HiViz sight looks great on my Super Wrangler IMHO! I shake my head when I read where people are complaining about the slight overhang of this sight over the front of the barrel. The overhang is actually about 1/32 of an inch (the thickness of a credit card). I wouldn't have even noticed the overhang had I not read about it in some reviews. I only paid $250 new in the box for this pistol which is a great value! Had I spent over $2,000 on a custom engraved gold inlay safe queen of a pistol perhaps I would be concerned about a 1/32 inch overhang. I love this new sight and the pistol it is mounted on! Can't wait to get it out on the range and put it thru its paces. Great combo!
