Last time I bought a no name filter and the dispenser leaked often. This LG doesn’t leak. Also seems to remove more pollution than the no names. More expensive but worth it for health and functionality.

Called LG to confirm that this filter would fit my fridge as the number is slightly different from my original filter. They confirmed it and they were right. So was Amazon, by the way, but I sought reassurance. Easy to replace filter just remember that you are removing a filter full of water (it does not spill) and replacing with filter that needs to fill with water before it can dispense water or ice. Just like when you shut off water in house and then put it back on, you can get a burst of water the first time you use the new filter. Throw out the first few glasses as they will strongly filtered. After that you will have great water again.

it took just 2 min. to install but dirty black water came out on the flushing so I flushed longer than stated until the water was perfectly clear I believe this may be because I never changed the filter for 3 years, maybe? I ordered a spare and dated the one I installed.
