Got rid of the flea problem on my lawn. Fleas were a big problem in 2024

I found a tick on me while in the garden around the house. Now to understand how unlikely that is you would have to know my husband who has a lawn like a golf course. He spends good $$ (more money that I care to mention) for insect control, weed control, grub control etc...although beautiful, our lawn might be seen as a toxic war field from space with all the chemicals. (just a joke). Ants were the only constant, we never succeeded to get rid of them for any length of time..I specifically researched and reviewed a few products, focusing on tick control, because of the garden tick I found. Well this is my third year purchasing it because it not only works on the ticks but it also works on the ants. After spraying around the house and then the perimeter of the lawn I'm free of insects for about 3 months. when I say insects, I mean ants, ticks, everything.I have to reapply, totaling twice a year for our short spring/summer season. two bottles lasts me the year with a bit left over and the house is 40x22 (I spray around the house) and the yard/lawn is 3 times that size, if not more. (I spray the perimeter. The wood line). I don't normally spray the lawn itself just the wood line. I recommend it. I love it. I have it on autoship.

Yard sprayingCompared to a couple other fine products I’ve used that seem to kill everything, Advantage seems better focused on flea and tick control as well as mosquitoes. I want some ants and dung Beatles to help me complete the cleanup after my dogs, and the stray animals coming through at night that also leave new fleas. I keep a couple dispensers from the other fine brands that have a much better broadcast and a smooth thumb control. I filter the product (with a paper paint filter and a funnel) into the clean sprayer from the other brand. Back wash the spray heads every time after use. The Advantage is worth the effort, after all any product can clog up. My 12,000 ft grass is taken care of with one bottle applied in a frequency to break up the life cycle of fleas plus the introduction from stays and wildlife.

I have had a huge tick problem in my yard for years until I used this product. Guys give it a chance, it was a huge saver for my dog and my yard. Here’s my little story. I live right next to a huge golf course that has several rodents (birds, possums, rabbits, skunks, cats etc) and they do not spray their land. My poor dog had been suffering from ticks for weeks. I took her to get prescription medicated baths and tick medication but it was not enough and I was getting desperate. Her vet recommended this brand of spray to use in the early morning or evening. I had been using natural remedies and natural sprays to kill ticks in the yard but never had real progress. I used this and saw instant results. Dead ticks everywhere I walked. Of course there were still a few walking around but people, ticks live in the dirt and grass you can’t kill them all the first time. I sprayed my yard on a weekly basis and it took me one month to be tick free. I no longer have to spray or have any more tick problems. My dog is living her best life and will be getting off tick medication finally. Best time to spray is early morning or evening when the sun isn’t beating down because then the solution evaporates too fast. I kept my dog out of the yard for the day when I’d spray.

I wish I'd listened to other reviews. Very little solution comes out and mixes with water when spraying. I have a ~5000 square foot yard (just enough for one full bottle), but after spraying, I had almost 80% of the solution left. However, it's been a day and I haven't been bit by whatever insects were in my yard, so maybe Advantage just doesn't need to dispense much?

We don’t have pets yet found ourselves battling with fleas in our house! After treating our carpets, linens and upholstery, the fleas were gone.. so we thought. It’s wasn’t long before we started noticing fleas in the house again. I then read that the fleas may be in our yard from stray animals in the neighborhood. Long story short, after using this product, we haven’t seen any fleas in over a year. We plan to treat our yard periodically to prevent any future infestations.

I can't speak to how well this works on fleas, but I can tell you it works for ticks.Last September, after losing a second cat in five years to Bobcat Fever, we went to war. What you need to understand about this is that ticks can ride in on your clothes and attach themselves to your cats.We use topicals to prevent fleas and ticks, and we keep our cats inside, but obviously none of them are foolproof. I bought this primarily to kill ticks in our fenced in yard where the dogs play and the area around my swing and near my garden.It does the job. When I started finding ticks on myself after coming in from the garden this spring, my husband treated the same areas with the same results. I haven't seen a tick since.We will use this again.
