I bought this for a 7-year-old granddaughter who has an interest in sewing. My son told me today via Skype that she was very excited. The pieces stuck together as she opened the packaging and she thought there was just the turtle, when she saw the parts for two animals, she was very happy, and when her brother pointed out the third, she was over the moon. She immediately sewed the turtle together with a small amount of help from a parent. My son is confident she will complete the next two on her own. He said this gift was a "home run." His direction in my choosing gifts for his children was toward minimalism, not something that would sit on a shelf, something the child could do. I sensed that he was pleased, too. Big review for a small item, but I accomplished my goal.

This is a great starter kit for learning basic needle and thread skills, however the holes are sometimes punched a little too close to the edge, which can be frustrating for those just getting started and blame themselves for ripping the hole out just by pushing through the needle.That said, she did it, was very happy, and it lasted long enough for all the stickers and attachments to fall off without coming apart! Durable enough for me! These would be great as single packets to give away as small gifts or for homeschooling curriculum, but a 3 pack was more than we needed (one per kid was good enough)

If you have no sewing experience then this kit will be a problem. There are no instructions. Thankfully i have a sewing background and could figure it out.

Easy for the kids to see but there isn’t enough yarn for stuffing for each animal. it was fine bc we use some extra yarn we had lying around but it would be very disappointing for the kiddos if I hadn’t had anything.

Quality of material is cheap. Also they send very small amount of wool and stuffing material. Paying $4+ for each piece is expensive for the quality.

Teaching my boys to sew and this is great for beginners. My 7 year old loves it and 4 year old also likes it.
