Disappointed!
This book is a disappointment. The author is supposedly a doctor, but goes to the doctor himself. Or is it herself? It's written entirely from a woman's perspective, not a man's, and there are many other inconsistencies as well. I loaded the Kindle version on my phone and ordered a hard copy to give as a gift before I had read it.The hard copy will be going back because there are much better EO books out there and I would be very embarrassed to give this one as a gift. I recommend "Aromatherapy For Dummies," which is much more informative, complete and user friendly than this one. It's written by Kathi Keville, the Director of the American Herb Association. "Dr." Ozz does not list his credentials, possibly because he doesn't have any. If he's a doctor, for instance, what kind of doctorate does he have and why doesn't he mention it in the book. My husband has a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree (JD), but knows nothing about essential oils. Just saying . . . .

Ghost Writer, Perhaps? Confusion Abounds!
While I found the book very informative and easy to read, there is quite a bit confusion as well. I do not see anywhere noted that another author is contributing, yet often there are statements made that indicate it is a woman writing, not a man. One notable instance is when he/she talks about not needing to take pain pills for menstrual cramps for the last 20 years thanks to sweet marjoram oil and lavender. ??? My first questioning moment was when I was reading about his/her favorite perfume blend. I thought it odd that a man was making a floral perfume, but considered it could have been for a gift perhaps. After the menstrual comment though, I knew something else was up, Does anyone have any information on this? I'd like to know who really is writing and if not Dr. Ozz, what HER qualifications are regarding essential oils. Additionally, I have not been able to find any information on a Dr. Philip Ozz in New York, despite the fact that he is apparently a distinguished lecturer and also has a medical practice in New York.

Excellent Reference Guide
This really is the definitive guide to essential oils; it's packed with all sorts of information, from the basics of getting started to advanced blending techniques. The A-Z directory of common complaints was thorough, as was the A-Z directory of essential oils - I didn't even know that half of those oils even existed. I do wish that the A-Z directory included blend recipes for each complaint, but the book does include plenty of recipes for all sorts of applications. This is a reference guide that I'll keep coming back to again and again.

Great reference guide!
This a great reference book. It explains the steps to creating your own oil mixes and the reasons for how this is done. It's written in terms that anyone could understand. There is a section explaining the benefits of each oil and which oils work well with each oil. The only con is that section has a very large font and I prefer the fonts to be consistent. That said, it doesn't change how well he has written this book. I would recommend this to others.

Very Informative
There is a lot of information packed into this book. It is well organized, so you can find what you are looking for easily. I have found it to be a valuable resource.

Interesting, very interesting
this may eventually be a five star, but it isn't about merely reading...it's about learning something. That takes time. Dr. Ozz has written a detailed book about essential oils which seems reasonable and important. Can't rate it easily after perusing it, it needs to be thoroughly read and studied.

Essential Oils: The Definitive Bible
This book discusses the different types of oils and some of their uses. Like the title, it is rather like a bible or reference book to use as a guide to using the oils. Whether or not to use these oils is not really covered. It is a very good reference book once you have decided to use them.
