In The Swim Liquid Sand Filter Cleaner – Fast-Acting Concentrated Formula for Improved Pool Water Filtration - 1 Quart

I have a 40,000 gallon in ground pool. I have had it for over twenty years. During that time, not once did my pool maintenance man tell be about cleaning the sand in my filter, other than backwashing it. I happened to see this product while researching glass v. sand for the filter. I purchased a quart. I received it the next day. I followed the instructions as well as looking at a U-tube presentation. I poured the entire quart into the filter motor basket and then turned the filter motor on for about ten seconds. This enabled the cleaning solution to get into the filter. I then turned the filter off and let it sit over night. The next morning, I turned the filter to backwash and turned it on. You would not believe the gook that came our of the waste pipe. I backwashed the filter for about three minutes and then turned it to rise for about a minute. I then reset it to filter and turned the pump on. The pressure that flowed from the filter into the pool was probably twice the strength that it was before I cleaned the filter. My pool is now crystal clear. I plan to clean the filter like this every month or so during the summer. What a great product.

Worked like a dream. No more scale !

I had noticed that my pool water was not nearly as clean and clear as usual. We always backwash our sand filter as directed from the filter manufacturer,also test water regularly. Started investigating and found out that it was probably time to change the sand in the filter of which there is 300 lbs. Not wanting to do this I found out about this sand filter cleaner ,it sounded great and I thought I would give it a try,boy I was glad I did as it was much cheaper and easier to do than to change the sand. After adding the cleaner as instructed, I turned the filter off for the instructed time, I backwashed the filter and couldn't believe how much dirt and gunk came out of the filter. Over the next two days the pool water was noticably cleaner and clearer. I will buy this again so I can use it to maintain the sand in the filter so the filter can do it's job more efficiently. Product is easy to use and works well. Seems a bit pricey for what it does, however.

I had an issue with my sand filter where the pressure never seemed to want to come below the red line. This was for weeks actually. I finally researched and found this product. Followed the instructions to a word and BAM! the pressure dropped the next day and everything is back to working normal.I was really concerned because of the pressure listing on the meter, but this product seemed to clean everything out. I would relate this to something like liquid draino...you add it, it eats away the stuff that just won't filter and backwash out of your filter, and cleans up the sand to start over again.I really think the issue was my both of my dog's hair that was clogging the sand up. I have two Siberian Huskies and they are always out and about in the backyard and near the pool. They will never jump in the pool, but they are always out around it. If you know Huskies, you know they shed like there is no tomorrow. Well, I think a lot of their hair is ending up in the pool and some of it is ending up in the sand filter. This stuff made a huge difference.If you're having issues with your filter and the pressure just doesn't seem to want to go down, try this before you get professional help. This made a world of difference for my pool. The filters seem to be working better after the use of this product as well.

This stuff rocks, my filter pressure was at 40 PSI and I could hear my pump struggling. I changed my sand a little over a year ago and there was no way it should need another change so soon, so I turned to Google and saw reviews on this stuff. I did my first treatment and the crap that came out when I flushed was disgusting. My PSI dropped to about 28 PSI. I waited a week and did a second treatment, again there was a lot of disgusting crap coming out during the flush along with this black goo stuff. My PSI dropped to 15 PSI and that's where it's stayed all summer. I'll be doing it again at the end of summer. Good buy.

Didn’t make much difference.

I was having issues with the pressure in my pump. I tried everything including another product. I doubled the dose of this product and let it sit for an hour and a half, I did a backwash for about five minutes, put it in rinse and then filter, all my pressure was back! I highly recommend this product for sand filter system maintenance. If you’re having issues with your return pressure, before you go changing the sand or buying a new pump, use this product!
