Life saver!!
I was recovering from a double sprain that left me in a boot for months. This item played a key role in my ankles recovery. I love this thing. It’s not to bulky but firm enough for support. Thank you for having this product available.

Works perfectly for lateral support especially
I have been searching for the perfect brace to support my ankle now since I’ve started walking in regular shoes about a month ago, 3 months following my ankle surgery. My ankle surgery kind of failed and I don’t blame anyone for it, as I have a known condition, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which causes a lot of surgeries not to have the best outcomes. But I deal with that however I can and in this case finding an ankle brace to support my needs is the best way to do so. This brace is fabulous, as long you buy the correct size. I had previously bought the same brace for my right side and the only size available at the time was an extra large, which is still way too big (it’s actually even bigger than it was when I received it because weight loss affects every body part). It definitely doesn’t work as intended unless you have the correct size. But that’s easy enough to choose. I am able to use the brace with or without shoes and it prevents the tendons on the outside of my ankle from popping out of place, which is the main problem I have had since my surgery. This brace works better for me than the custom made Richie style brace I have, which only works if you are wearing shoes with it. I need something that works when I’m too lazy to wear shoes or just want to walk around barefoot. And this is the overall winner thus far. I try out a lot of braces before settling on something normally, so that’s saying a lot. This brace is bulkier than my custom made brace, but it’s also far more comfortable against my sensitive fibula, which I believe has an anchor in it from my surgery.Aircast always seems to be the best solution for my bracing needs, whatever body part requires it.

Worked great for me, but annoying velcro design.
Size purchased: SmallThe good: This brace worked really well for me for a severe sprain. I hated it the first couple of days because the stiffness of the strap didn't allow me to tighten it well enough. After a few days though it was no problem! This brace allowed me to move about so much more easily than with an ace wrap without the worry of making a wrong move. I believed it has helped me to heal more quickly. The not so good: There is too much velcro on this thing (the rough side that sticks to everything). I understand the extra velcro around the top for people with smaller legs than myself (a bit more on sizing in a minute), but the velcro extends down the brace where it will never be used... by anyone because it's double the width of the strap. Anyway, it sticks to everything. Dog hair, the couch, etc. I ruined a couple of spots on some under armour leggings I had. That is the brace's biggest downfall.A forewarning: I am a woman of average weight. I have boney skinny ankles with larger calves due to many years as a dancer and on pointe shoes. Until I broke the strap in, I didn't feel like I could get this brace tight enough on my ankle while it was already tight on my calf. It ended up working out really great for me, but I feel like if you have quite large calves or might be overweight, this brace may not have a strap that allows you to tighten around your ankle enough. It is one strap that wraps around to tighten for both calf and ankle. It may tighten around your calf, but allow the ankle to be too loose. I think the strap design could be a lot better in respect to this and therefore fit more universally.

Just what I needed!
I bought this after I rolled my ankle pretty badly, and it’s honestly been a lifesaver. It gives me the perfect amount of support without being too bulky or uncomfortable. I can walk around all day in it, and it fits in my sneakers with no problem.

This "aircast" is fabulous!
I ordered this Aircast for a possible broken ankle/ foot. Turns out it was a bad sprain 5 weeks later I still have a lot of bruising. Got the Aircast the next day. It took two weeks to get into the doctor for x-rays. He put me in a humongous boot to help with my mobility. I couldn't walk in the darn thing. Caught myself falling three times. Wore it one day. That was it.Back to the Aircast! It's been a real blessing. It affords my foot and ankle ample protection and very good support. I can wear it all day comfortably over a sock. And it fits in my shoe. I've been wearing it over 5 weeks now and it looks as good as the day I received it. I would buy it again should the other ankle, or foot have a problem. It's allowed me to stay mobile.

*do not by this*
Do Not Waste Your Money – Falls Apart Fast!I rarely leave reviews, but this time I had to warn others. I bought the Aircast expecting quality and durability — instead, I got a product that tore apart after just a few uses. This isn't just disappointing, it's dangerous. Imagine relying on this for support or recovery, only to have it fail on you when you need it most. The materials feel cheap, the stitching came undone almost immediately, and customer service was completely unhelpful when I reached out. For the price, this is absolutely unacceptable.Avoid this product at all costs. You're better off with literally any other brand.

OK & Size Info
I badly sprained my ankle and needed a good support system for recovery. My shoe size is 8.5 to 9 and I have skinny weak ankles--but it was hugely swollen. So I was on the fence between a small or medium. I ended up ordering the small and due to the swelling it was too tight & very uncomfortable. I then ordered the medium & it is so much more comfortable (but of course you can't return this) I think when the swelling goes down the small will be good for everyday wear. It also depends on what socks you might wear--a thicker sock would never have fit in the small. It seems like a well made & supportive device. Odd strap set up though. The long main support strap wraps around--kind of figure 8 style. The fabric cover to keep the velcro from sticking to things is kind of weird but works OK. I'm still not getting around too much but think this will work well when I start getting back to normal activities.
