Been wearing these for weeks, since they arrived. Sleeping in them no problem. Never irritated my ears so I'm thinking they must actually be surgical steel. I really like that the back screws on. They stay tight. No pointy edges to poke into the side of my head when sleeping on side. Still nice and shiny even after being worn for so long, going thru showers, being exposed to shampoo, etc. Highly recommend.

My double helix had issues healing, so I switched my jewelry to these from hoops. They're a little difficult to screw on, but they stay put. They haven't tarnished and are good quality, so I recommend them!

I've only worn one so far because it's very hard to get the back screwed on. I haven't taken it out and it looks very nice, but the back is prohibitive to me changing it.

I love these so much I got them twice. I have spent my entire life dealing with ear irritation and the itch and swell. This is the first I have ever been able to wear more than a few hours. Currently going on 2 months of continuous wear!! It's the type of metal they use btw!! Search "biocompatible"!!Update: going on 8 months of continuous wear, will never go back.BUT. The ball back is tiny and difficult to put on. Some are stiff out the package but once it's open the only hard part is getting it back on. You need tiny hands or someone else closing it.

I have purchased this set twice and I wear 4 in each ear. I bought these to replace my top two ear piercings that are fairly new (less than 6 mo.) because my others one kept getting snagged and it was so painful I was going to take them out. These earrings are the only ones that would help heal my highest piercing which was slow to heal. Very comfortable, I’ve gotten snagged in my babies curly hair a couple times but no biggie. Would recommend, no allergic reactions or ear irritation. Studs come in different lengths to versatile in placement. Plenty of options between crystals and balls. Plenty of replacements for those with clumsy fingers. After months of wearing these, I’ve only lost one ball in the bed while sleep but the earring remained.

These are just okay...they are the proper gauge, and decent length, so they are comfortable when wearing. However, out of all of these, half of them had some sort of defect. Some were bent and kinked at angles I wouldn’t want to feel in my ears. Others had the balls completely stuck on the threads, mangled to the point the ball won’t come off. Tons of machining errors. Still decent for the price I suppose. I’ve worn the useable ones for a few weeks now with no incident, so they are at least real steel.

I've been looking for earrings with screw-on ball backs to wear all the time. A lot of them are just too long to fit properly in my earlobes. These work very well. They fit perfectly and don't droop. It's a bit tricky to get the backs screwed on but not impossible. Take your time doing it and it is worth it. I wear these 24/7 and haven't had a bit of trouble with them. I soaked them in alcohol to sanitize them before putting them in. They are just what I was looking for.

These are perfect - the post is not too long, and despite what some reviewers say, the backs are easy to screw on. I cannot sleep in butterfly back posts, and don't even like to wear them at all, but I can sleep in these and not even know they are there. Lots of different sizes, with both simple ball or faceted stone designs. These are great for leaving in my "extra" ear piercing while changing the "main" ones to larger hook-style or hoop earrings.
