Great introduction to a wide variety of useful principles
The depth is hardly the great thing about this book. It is a rather shallow introduction to each of these principles. Really just sufficient to understand and apply said principles in a useful way. Many of these principles could take a decade to master, but that's where this book becomes useful. While it would take a long time to master, it only takes a few minutes to apply to a lesser extent. Just sufficient to substantially improve a project, product, or user interface, for instance. For new designers, developers, artists, and engineers, this book is a must have.

Good Primer and Reference
This is the smallest, most concise book for human factors/ergonomics that I've ever seen. Any intelligent person would be able to extrapolate a good design from the foundation that this book establishes. I use it as a reference with other engineers on how to make our products work better for our customers. Many engineers can be obtuse when it comes to human factors/ergonomics since they are rarely end-users.

Well designed reference book
Lots of great practical design advice and knowledge contained in this compact book. The design principals are in alphabetical order, some that are included- Contour Bias, Fibonacci Sequence, Golden Ratio, Form Follows Function, etc...Recently, I've heard of a principal that NASA uses, basically starting with the premise of asking "What could go wrong"- and designing from the available answers. A quick glance reference and worth it- with it you will recognize the attention, or lack of attention, given to design.

Well designed book that gives me some basic design knowledge and understanding.
Excellent book and reference for a "jack of all trades". I love that the book covers several areas of design, including both visual and functional aspects. It is conveniently sized, and of course...well designed.Personally, I play with everything from designing parts and tools to build/repair cars to graphic design to home organization/building projects. I outsource my "real" design work to professionals, but it is still great to understand some of these principles when reviewing their work.

extremely interesting
very thought provoking book, lots of complicated psychological principles all boiled down to their simplest form. this is a great book to flip through bit by bit while you're eating breakfast, gives you one or two cool ideas that you can percolate throughout your day.

Useful for explaining design concepts in better words than I ...
It's a nifty reference book I keep on my desk at work. Useful for explaining design concepts in better words than I can manage.

Great reference guide and brainstorming starter kit.
Wow, what a great read. I went cover to cover in a few hours since I couldn't put it down. Get out your highlighter and sticky notes to earmark your favorite pages! Everything from archetypes and colors to decision making methods and design conventions. Great job!

Love this concise pocket version!
I much prefer this smaller concise version than the full version. This version deals with each principle in a concise yet still informative way. Just enough information to clearly understand each principle. The book is about 20mm thick and I'm concerned that in time the spine glue may weaken and pages fall out but maybe my fear is unfounded and modern page glue is stronger than it looks.

A nice pocket size reminder.
It’s a great book to have just in case you might have forgotten what you had learned. The only thing. It took quite some time for delivery (almost 2 weeks) but the communication from the seller was good.

Great little book.
Great little book for those with eyesight of a hawk. Each 'subject' is dealt with very briefly, I mean really abbreviated so to speak. But for all that it is an excellent aid as an index for further reading.Note that I also have the 'full size' publications and would recommend them also.

Interesting intro to design principles, perfect for a novice
I picked this up on a whim. It's a wonderful summary of the principles of design. I don't know much about it, so it's been a revelation as to how much design impacts our day to day lives. Really interesting.
