Save some money - buy color in a tube instead of boxes
I'm a guy, but I try to look for value in what I buy. I buy big expensive toys so I have to save in other places. This is one of the places I save some money. I do not color hair for a living so if you do as I indicate I do and your hair falls out or turns blue, you likely have introduced another factor. If you have longer hair or use other products on your hair, you need to follow directions - not what I am doing. I really like separate dye and developer. The boxes have way too much for a guy or gal with short hair. And likely not enough for many women. It is WAY cheaper to buy larger tubes and developer separately. The only reason I'd suggest the box is for finding the color you need. A big tube of wrong color will make one very sad, but most places will take it back. I'm not sure about Amazon's return policy. My intent is to hide gray and I have a dishwater blond hair color. I tend to shift between the light ash brown or a darker ash blond color - going lighter in summer. I keep my hair really short so I don't worry about damaging my hair. I do all my hair every time and honestly, this product makes my hair softer somehow. I don't know the science behind it all but it does. I'm lucky to have lighter hair. The color shift isn't so noticeable as you wash the dye out. I try to dye my hair right before I cut it - I feel like just cut hair naturally shows more color than the tips would. In either case, many people don't know I color my hair. I don't hide the fact, but the woman that cuts my hair has made comments about the day I go gray. Although she may just be working the tip jar. For a guy, I highly suggest the creme products also. It's so much easier to contain the color where you want it. I don't mix exactly either - I just use a disposable paper 6oz cup (that I buy for rinsing my mouth), and shoot for half developer & creme. I usually do this on a weekend so I can take more time getting ready. I mix quickly, toss on hair with the mixing brush & I get my finger into it around the edges to ensure I don't miss anything. I clean everything right then (cleaning on the spot is best to prevent staining - be sure to scrub nails if you use your hands any) and for 25 to 30 minutes, I relax and drink a cup of coffee. Then I jump in shower & clean thoroughly. I used to use a towel around my shoulders while it set, but after I gained confidence it won't run, I just run around shirtless til shower time. Because my hair is short, It likely only gets colored twice before it is cut off so it doesn't get damage from over processing. One other tip - if you get dye on your face or something, try the developer to remove it.

Best ash blonde hair dye!
This product is great! The tube they sent didn't exactly match the packaging in the picture, however. The one they sent me was "Gray Coverage 9.1 light ash blonde". I'm 22 and have no gray hairs, so I was worried at first but decided to go ahead and apply it anyways. Took me about 30 minutes to work through all my hair (I have fairly long hair that reaches just past my breasts). Then I left it on for about 35 minutes before rinsing it out. My hair is finally a TRUE light ash blonde! I've used a few different dyes the past few months to try and get that true light ashiness without a bronze look and this is it. My natural hair color is a dark/dirty blonde. The first dye I used was Garnier extra light ash blonde 111 which certainly lighened my hair but definitely did not match the color on the box (they never really do). It also left a brassy tone to my hair which I hated. I used wella t18 toner to get rid of the brass, which worked great! The second dye I used was Loreal Paris superior color preference 9.5A lightest ash blonde. This color was beautiful but also not as light as the box. After a few washes it started to get a little brassy. T18 toner again! Finally after some more research I heard about this. The results are beautiful! I'm hoping it doesn't fade too quickly or fade to a brassy tone. Got some more t18 just in case ;) UPDATE (9/27): I ordered the 9X.1 lightest ash blonde. The results were not great :/ the color seems uneven despite blending in the solution evenly around my head. Some areas are a beautiful light ash blonde, others are a yellowy/bronze color. My roots are also reddish blonde (before dying they were dark brownish). Looks like I'll stick with previous one.

Exactly what they used in my salon.
This hair color brand is the exact one that was used by my salon when I had my hair done at a salon. Now I do my hair color myself at home. It covers my gray roots nicely. I leave it on for at least an hour.
