Movies We Remember: Herbie

Great old movie

My grandchildren are really enjoying these movies. They range in age from 11-2. The 4 year old boy especially likes them.

DVD was as described. Grandkids thought Herbie movies were hilarious. I enjoyed watching them again myself.

Good Herbie movie collection definitely recommend it

I hate car stories and was hesitating adding this to my collection of Disney classics BUT I am glad I did now. I must be the only person I know who had not seen any of the Herbie films. I laughed andcried and was just delighted with my purchase. It's not really about car racing - but about a sweet car and all the wonderful people and stories that are involved with him. The settings are great. I loved he frst three in this four disc set. Herbie Goes Bananas just wasn't as good even if Cloris Leachman and Harvey Korman (especially) are good in their roles . The leading actors of Bananas ( can't recal their names at all) were a far cry from Dean Jones and the other actors in the first three. For me the classic Disney 'knack' was lacking in Bananas in terms of its story and actors or maybe it was the 1980 setting. In short, I would recommend it for young kids and really 'old' kids like me ! I'm giving it five stars. You can't like them all - at the price they were a bargain!

My father owned a 1962 VW Bug in Herbie white with red interior, so I might be a bit biased when it comes to these movies. They are fun comedies and provide good decent entertainment unlike so much of today's fare. If you are watching these on a 4K TV or even a 1080p TV you will find the movies a bit soft. Herbie Fully Loaded and Love Bug are in the newer widescreen format but the other two are in the old standard 4:3 format and are the lowest resolution of the four. I do not believe the resolution issues would diminish your enjoyment of these movies once the story gets underway, at least not for me. So four stars for the DVD collection. I was disappointed my set arrived damaged. While the DVDs are okay, the same can not be said for the case. Bubble wrap envelopes are not sturdy enough to ship items made of plastic, given the careless handling of packages. I had wanted to leave a shipping review but that option was not offered for this particular product. Most likely yours will arrive just fine.

DVDs arrived in excellent condition, however, the case was broken on the inside and does not hold the DVDs firmly. The DVDs float loosely in the case. Otherwise, recommend.

I remember these movies from the wonderful world of Disney on Sunday evening after Mutual of Omaha wild kingdom for great family movies. These movies were often featured. Other classic movies like 20,000 leagues under the sea (Kirk Douglas), the cat from outer space, and the two original movies escape and return to witch mountain (not the Dwayne Johnson reboots). Were also featured along with original Disney Aminated movies.

First off, this is a 4-Disk Series. I bought my copy for about $2-$3 a MOVIE (think: cheaper than renting a 2 day movie rental). I didn't buy Herbie on REVIEWS. I remember how good the show was from years ago. Was produced in the mid 1960's (and back then, movies had a slower start to the show. Lots of pre-credits and intro footage before getting into the show. Don't let the slow start fool you. My wife wasn't "interested" in the show (reading a book) and although she said she was not interested in the show, it grabbed her attention and she loved it! A great comedy about a car that is human-like with it's acting up (emotional) and has a mind of it's own. Great Imagination in movies in those days. The BEST PART is even though this is a 4-part sequel, Each plot is different and never follows the previous show (other than a thinking car, and racing, the shows are more unique from each other). If you love good comedies, CLEAN humor, you will LOVE Herbie the Love Bug, Herbie Rides Again, Herbie Monte-Carlos and Herbie goes Bananas!
