Fantastic post surgery suit..... worth every penny !!!
Really really pleased with this item. Bought size large for 10kg cockapoo post spaying surgery (take time to measure your dog using chart provided). The photo is 24hrs post op & as you can see she is really comfortable & happy to wear it as she wouldn't have tolerated a "lampshade" which most vets provide. The fabric is very soft, suit is easy to put on the dog, well made with lots of firm poppers along back & designed to allow toileting without removal & can be altered for male dog. I think she is enjoying wearing the suit & it has definitely stopped her licking the wound & gnawing at stitches which can only reduce risk of infections, complicatications & promote healing. Would highly recommend this suit for post surgery or any skin problems to prevent gnawing or licking wounds.

Nice comfortable suit
Really nice little suit. My dog was not getting on with the suit provided by the vet so I brought this one for her. She is much more comfortable in this one. Still not happy about wearing it mind..... But she has a lot more freedom of movement. Plus its easier to put on as the dog steps into it rather than having to put it over her head. The snaps down the back also means I can undo it easily so she can have a nice little back scratch. Slightly longer than I needed but I just snapped it up differently to take up the excess slack.

Unsuitable for post-male neutering op
On first look the product looked decent in terms of quality and looks, we ordered XL and it fit our 15kg Cockapoo well. However, following the operation we got a call from the vets to say that the suit doesn’t cover the wound - having checked this myself after bringing the dog home this is because the hole at the back leaves the wound exposed so the dog could still get to it. We bought on Amazon in advance thinking it would be much cheaper than the vets, however with hindsight I would just purchase from the vet - their suit was £23, better quality and designed slightly differently to ensure the wound is covered (brand is MPS - medical pets shirts). Not there is no returns on this either so I’ve effectively paid twice! Oh well.

Good design, but not suited to smooth hair types
This is easy to put on, cos you do not need to stretch it to fit over his head like a jumper, as with other dog vests. Also easier cos it does up along the back. Sizing seems accurate – I went primarily by chest size and weight. The instructions for measuring back length are not very clear. Also the designated cut out for a male dog's willy is well positioned. So given that and the design around the bum end, it means that your dog can cheerfully wear this out and about and pee and poo without having to have it removed. All good.My only reservations are 1. that the material is pretty thin. At the mo this is not a problem, as otherwise it seems well made with good seams etc. 2. the neck opening is pretty generous and as a result he has managed to pop out of the vest overnight. As he is wearing it to stop him licking and biting at a surgical wound, this is a bit concerning. That said I only got this one cos he had got out of the MPS vest I had from the vet. Must be my dog!PS This is 7 days in to using this vest. A frustrating aspect of using this is the ease with which it comes off. I have realised that this is due to the nap of his hair. Being a smooth haired terrier, his hair lays close to his body and points backwards (towards his bum, of course). The result of this is that the stretchy knit fabric catches on his hair. It easily slides down his body, but cannot ride back up because of the lay of his hair which catches and holds it in place. The overall effect is that the vest slowly inches its way down his bod as he moves about. Even just sitting down seems to shift it down his back by an inch, and it does not ride back up. Eventually it is so low down he either gets his back legs inside and thus kicks it off or it eventually slides down over his shoulders and falls off. I guess that the vest works perfectly on wooly or longer haired pooches, but for a short smooth haired hound you may well have the same problem. This was also the problem with the MPS vest, which is also made of stretch knit fabric. The key to resolving the problem is to sew in a fixed length of non-stretch strap or collar onto the stretch fabric neck. This should be the same fit as the usual collar. It works because it stops the collar riding back over the shoulders. Job done.

Tricky to find the best size.....
Bought XL and XXL for a leggy, slim springer spaniel (21kg) as I'd already bought one from elsewhere which was too big and badly designed (polo neck to wriggle dog with stiches into i.e. no openings other than neck hole) . XXL too large (std. Labrador size) XL great in length and fit except the back leg holes were too tight. Easily solved as I cut them bigger and ran around the raw edges with a sewing machine. Suit was for spaying tummy wound so XL perfect. I went to the trouble to adapt this suit because the design is so much better than the 'polo neck' design I first bought. Dog stands in 4 leg holes and poppers do it up all along the back (open form end to end) . Its quite thin cotton which I like because its cooler (didn't want her overheating) and breathable. I am very pleased with my adapted purchase and hope this review helps if you have a 'Labrador sized' dog but who is slim and leggy.
