I ordered these hand weights after just being released from a rehab center seven weeks after breaking my hip and shoulder. They are pretty much the same as what the physical therapy center at the rehab center used. They sure beat the can of soup I was using until I received these!

I had a pair of very old metal 3 lb weights that just felt unwieldy and slippery. I am very happy with this new set. I have used them for over 6 months twice a week. They are so easy to use and I don't feel like my elbow or shoulder is being twisted the wrong way. The neoprene coating make them nonslip and the thickness of the "handle" is perfect for me. And I love my blue color; makes working out SLIGHTLY more fun. I would have loved these in a 5 lb set but couldn't find them in this brand individually. You had to buy a set that included the 3 lb weights which I already bought. Very happy with this purchase!

Exactly as described, fits my hands well. Really maximizes a walking and/or stretching workout. That is my review, my husband has other observations. He saw me using this one day while doing a really super simple stretching kind of routine I do and he got a bit interested. After of bit of messing with the weights and asking me to punch as some of his kick boxing padding he was really enthused. He said he was glad I was using these because if I ever had to defend myself he thought my punches would have much more strength behind them, he felt I was already punching with much more strength without even realizing it. I do not do any sort of workouts other than walking and a super simple stretching, my husband does kickboxing and martial arts and every now and then asks me to punch at him while he has his pads on so he is sure I am still comfortable hitting someone if I ever had to. So he is very keen on the self defense and thinks these will be good for that. Since I generally don't hit people all I can say is they feel good in my hands, not slippery and offer great resistance for maximizing a super simple stretching routine and for walking.
