KidKraft Nantucket Table and Chair Set - KD049

First, I would like to say that some of the negative reviews nearly kept me from buying this product. But after serious research and thought we chose this set.It went together very easily and has stayed together, with a tightening of screws every six months, for the last 18 months. The table has one small chip broken off and glued back into place, caused by a larger child throwing it across the room and into a bookcase, no one knows why. The chairs have been used by children and adults to sit on, stand on, build forts with, play stack the chairs til they all fall down, and even dueling Lion tamers and they still look like they just came out of the box. Now either this table and chairs set is really well made or they heard about my wild bunch and sent us a set made out of titanium. We had gotten more than our monies worth out of this set within the first six months. While I wouldn't suggest using them as my precocious kids and grandkids did, who knew you could build a ladder out of them to get to the top cabinet and get into Noni's sweet treats bag, I do say I think this table and chairs set was money well spent, and I would buy another one if this one ever gets lost.

We bought this for our daughter for Christmas. Set-up wasn't too bad, as there weren't too many loose or tiny pieces, and the directions were quite straightforward. We got the natural-looking table, with the four chairs consisting of (mostly) primary colors. I love that the colors are very gender neutral and go very well with our daughter's "KidKraft Cook Together Kitchen" (see separate review for that). It's been almost eight months of constant use, and so far, so good. The paint has not chipped and the seats have held up under a toddler who likes to tip the chairs over or jump up & down on them. I've sat on the chairs from time to time and they haven't buckled yet under my weight (120lbs). My only criticism is that it's hard to remove stains. My daughter loves to color with her crayons, and sometimes colors beyond the coloring books onto the table. Even though the crayons are the washable type, I've still not been able to remove some of the marks from the table. Maybe it's the properties of the crayons themselves, but I thought I should at least mention that on this review.Other than that, we're very happy with this product and would highly recommend it, especially for the price.

Overall, this table and chairs set is pretty good. The structural quality seems strong, it was pretty simple to assemble and it is just adorable! I will say that as I was putting it together I had to be super careful not to scratch the paint. It's no big deal though, it doesn't affect the quality of this product. A little touch up paint from Home Depot should do the trick. No biggie. One thing that did bother me though was that not all of the screw heads were painted to match the chairs. Again, not really a big deal, just kind of annoying. I read a review of a kid getting stuck in the back of the chair. The only way that could happen is if the child isn't using the chair properly. The space between the back of the seat and bottom of the back of the chair could technically be big enough for a kid to get stuck in, but if your kid is sitting in it as it is designed they'll be fine. They won't just magically slip through the back of the chair. Just like a stairway banister, as long as it's being used as it was intended, they'll be just fine! All in all, a great product! I can't wait to give it to my son for Christmas.

We have had this table and four chairs since Christmas. As of today, we have one chair that is still in tact. The children are young; ages 2,3, 4, and 6. With the slightest movement, putting the chair up on the table to clean up, or other regular things that kids do with tables and chairs, the chairs fall to pieces. They were put together very carefully by my husband and son in law who had professional tools and took the time to assemble it correctly. I have purchased many many things from Amazon but I have to say that this is the worst thing I have ever purchased. I am so very disappointed. When the first chair broke to pieces ( and I mean to pieces) we did not want to blame anyone but as they all began to fall to pieces we realized something was very wrong. Now it is too late to return it. We no longer have a table and four chairs for our grandchildren. It is July of the first year we owned one. Even the paint is peeling off of the chairs.

I was looking for a set for my 2 yr old and after looking at the very many sets online, I finally purchased the Nantucket set. I can't say anything bad about the quality - the set was easy to put together, the paint is even everywhere, no parts have broken so far. It looks like a high end set of table+chairs and I can't really understand the justification for buying $300+ sets out there when you can buy the Nantucket set and get perfectly great kid furniture for half the price. We bought this set a year ago and use it daily. I sit on the chairs and so does my 190lb husband, the chairs have held up with no issues at all. The table and the paint is fine too, even though my daughter paints on it, eats on it and does all her crafts on it. No paint chipping at all, even though I wipe it daily. If you are looking for a reasonably priced table+chairs set that will hold up with daily use, buy this set.

this is my second set of Nantucket table and chairs. Over 5 years ago I bought a set for my triplet great granddaughters. They had so much use and abuse and they finally outgrew them. Their parents and those of us who were involved in their care loved them. They ate their meals at the set, colored, played with crafts and Pla Doh. This recent set was purchased because that one was terrific. This one is for a very clever physically active 3 year old. His dad put it together this week and he loves it. He told his mom he was fixing her a fancy meal!! He likes to help cook. When we have our Thanksgiving dinner, those triplets and he will share the table!! I expect he will be doing his crafts on it as well.Love the product, I thought the price was terrific and the shipping was perfect.
