Windows Server Standard has Essentials as an add in package. you just have to install it. whick one you use all depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If this is for small business and setting it up for remote access i would use the Essentials package. as it is fairly simple to set up you will just want to make sure you have a Static IP before you set it up. IF you are just setting up an office so people can access shared files or printers and have safe storage then standard will work as it has all capabilities. so as you see it could go either way just depends on how you are using the server. hope this helps .
