T9 LED Circline Light Bulb, 8 Inch 1600LM LED Circular Light, 13W Clear Cover 4000K Soft White Replacement for FC8T9 22-Watt Fluorescent Circular Bulb(FC8T9), Ballast Bypass Required

I bought 2 of these LED lamps to replace the fluorescent bulb in my Luxo magnifying lamps. They do the job very well, and the LEDs direct their light towards the subject being viewed which makes them more efficient (brighter) than a fluorescent bulb with the same lumen rating. You have to be able to rewire the Luxo lamp so that 120Vac is applied directly to the LED bulb, but this is relatively easy with the included directions. Start to finish the installation took me about 15 minutes for the first bulb, and was faster for the second. I can't rate the longevity yet, but expect it will be long-lived. I recommend this bulb compared to fluorescent bulb replacements.

This light is way brighter than the equivalent size flourescent light. To install in the existing flourescent fixture, I took the fixture off the ceiling to reveal the ballast/driver on the back. I snipped the power lines going into the ballast, leaving about 3" on the ballast in case I want to use it in the future. I pulled the plug on the ballast up inside the fixture, so the original is still intact. I ran the included plug/cable through the path where the previous one was. Then using the included wire nuts I connected the new cable to the power lines that I cut away from the ballast. I put everything back on the ceiling, and wow that light was bright! I need to find a frosted cover for the fixture, it's too bright to look directly at it. BE SURE TO TURN OFF BREAKER POWER TO THE FIXTURE BEFORE YOU WORK ON IT

I have this old Desk globe light I guess you can call it that i use on my drawing table, and my eyes got tired of using the blueish (6500k) Fluorescent light that I've had in it for the last 12 years. I wanted something brighter and more true to natural, I ordered this light bulb. now here's the trick that many might not realize, LED bulbs are directional when it comes to the plug and having the + and - run a certain way, when I initially plugged in the bulb it did not work, so i grabbed the connector and flipped it around and tried again and viola, there was bright light. I can't talk about longevity as i just put it on so hopefully this run for a long long time.

You don't have to be a DIY wiz to replace a standard circleline with this one. You don't even have to remove the old ballast--you just bypass it. A couple of wirenuts and you are done. Depending on the fixture you might be able to tell the lights are from multiple spots as opposed to a tube, but if you are not looking at the fixture, you won't know. It is bright and has good color.

I initially wanted to avoid having to splice wires and got an LED bulb from a famous manufacturer (Feit) that claimed it would work without splicing wires. Well, that didn't work with any of my T9 devices (hunter ceiling fan and vintage desk lamp). Their instructions said to check their website for compatibility ... so it wasn't a plug and play solution. Because I wanted to replace my fluorescent bulb with an LED, I tried this one and it was a breeze to install and looks/works great. I don't know about the longevity yet. All I had to do is to take out the ballast/starter (2 screws and a wire clip) from my Hunter fan, cut the plug and strip the 2 wires from the fan. I used the wire caps that came with this package and twisted together the white wire to white and the remaining wires (black to gray), and voila!

Tried 4 different bulbs - 3 did nothing, and the 4th barely registered a flicker. Then when removed it was smoking. These are very dangerous and should be pulled from sale here!

I bought this to replace a 8" circular florescent in a clock of mine. Was able to scrap the old starter, ballast,and bulb, and use just this. Fit perfectly, came with everything I needed! Great brightness, but not harsh! Made the clock look better than ever ! Less heat than before, and less power use. The next time I need to replace a circular 8" florescent, I will use these for sure.! Hats off to who ever came up with these,they are amazing !

The light from this LED replacement bulb is much better than I expected and much brighter and more even than the florescent bulb it was replacing. I chose the 'warm' color model for a breakfast nook setting. It took me about 15 minutes to install and fit perfectly where the old tube had been removed. Follow the directions, test carefully to be sure the wires you're connecting aren't live and enjoy!
