Warn everyone in the room to cover their ears when your testing it. My wife tried them out and complained they weren't very loud. Turns out she wasn't blowing very hard. I took it and blew sharply and we nearly blew out our ears! It should work well in an emergency to signal for help.

They work, they are loud. I like the lanyard that it comes with,reflective, long and adjustable.

Good whistles. Loud abut not as loud as the Strom whiles which is a different design. These are the loudest I own in this thin 'stick' clip on design. I have 6-8 of this design over the years and just tested them one to the other and this one wins. The Strom is only about 15% louder but it is a lower frequency which can penetrate air differently. I need to try a distance test. I use these for emergency 'stop' chainsaw Ops.

As another reviewer experienced, one of the two works just fine, and the other really doesn't. One makes a loud whistle, while the other is more of a "rushing air" with a slight whistle.They are cheap, though, and their bright orange color makes them easy to see in a pack. They're also extremely lightweight, and make for a great safety enhancement to your pack, purse, belt loop, or pocket.
