Yes, when the pump is not packaged in the same box as the mattress. It is irritating to return and order again. More importantly, the person who needs the air mattress is uncomfortable waiting for it to arrive useable. It must be costly for Amazon to make special arrangements to pick up the large and heavy package for return.
