"The Very Hungry Caterpillar" Butterfly and Prop Set from The Childhood Favorite Book, Model:MTC-326

Such a fun way to re-tell the story of the very hungry caterpillar. My son loved it and everywhere he played with it other kids gathered and played with him. It works as a great plush toy to take around when not putting food in the belly.

We had one of the original puppets 12 years ago, which was beautifully constructed. This is a cheaply made product. There are two major flaws with this version; First, each food item has a piece of cheap velcro sewed onto the back which prevents it from going in and out of the Caterpillar's sock "stomach" because the velcro catches on the caterpillar itself and snags the material. Sure to look like frayed junk in no time. Second, the front of the caterpillar is A STICKER!! Look closely at the photo and you will see wrinkles in it. That's the wrinkled paper of the sticker which resembles used tissue paper. Unbelievable. I was going to give this as a gift but would never consider it gift-worthy now that I have it in hand. The rest of the details, caterpillars eyes and food pieces are embroidered. Honestly! How hard would it have been to sew the butterfly's wing details on considering it is the main focus of the puppet?? Stickers on the front of large cut out pieces of felt wings that look like they were wadded up previously. Made in China, but looks like any cheaply-made factory line product. REALLY regret this purchase.

I didn't get the correct pieces for this set. i got two apples and no pears. I would like the whole thing for my classroom.

Definitely not worth the money especially for the how much they want. You can easily make the same thing, better or equal quality yourself with your kid for a much MUCH lower cost. I’ll use it because it’s paid for but I was greatly disappointed with what I received. Also I should have read because you still have to buy the book separately.
