Cheaper than the groomer
This is the third time I have ordered these exact replacement blades for my OsterMax Plus shears. They do keep going up in price (as does everything) but they stay sharp a good long while (keep oiling). Cheaper to buy new blades than send them off to be sharpened and WAY cheaper to groom my dogs than take them to a groomer. I figure I save about $200 every 3 months.During the pandemic, I started doing my husband's hair. My only experience had been with the dogs. First cut wasn't all that great but I got the hang of it and when all the barber shops reopened, my husband stayed with me. So, he saves $25 every month.Sure I wish they were cheaper but again, look what I save!!!!I find the size 10 works well for my needs and of course I've purchased the comb attachments so I can groom longer hair to shorter.

Wow, Nothing like a new blade!
After 17 years I needed to get a new blade as the old one got way to dull to keep using, as I need to get it sharpened. It is always a good idea to have two of three #10 blades, so you will always have one useable while the other is getting sharpened! This blade si suppose to be more superior then the plain #10 blade. I hope it lives up to staying sharp longer then my regular #10 blade only time will tell! It fit great on my A-5 Professional Clippers which I purchased in 1996, they still work great! For long lasting clippers do not forget to do the regular maintenance on your clippers! I used these clippers to groom my 3 dogs as the 4th dog has short hair. My toy poodle gets a clipping about once a month and I loved having sharp blades ready to use as this is! The universal Oster combs fit great on them too!

The Poodle’s Undoing!!
We buy these blades so my wife can work on her living topiary garden, also known as Gus. Gus (short for Octavius Augustus Plummet) is our 8 year old Standard Poodle who loves Plummeting down the stairs. My wife loves grooming him herself, into all kind of wonderful shapes and patterns. Hence these blades. Do I wish they lasted a little longer, yes. Have we tried sharpening them, absolutely with acceptable success. Do we keep buying them when needed, we sure do; because everyone needs a hobby they enjoy.

$20 gamble pays off
I was almost about to click on the "One Click Order" button for a brand new set of clippers, when my wife suggested we try ordering a new set of blades for our Oster A5.We have a small pack of mixed breed dogs, one of which is an 8 year old Queensland Heeler who I swear is part otter - her fur and undercoat are so thick it's crazy. The little girl was miserable given the heat wave we're going through here in the Southwest and her fur was a mess with little bits of pine sap she always seems to get stuck to.The new blade arrived exactly as promised within two days and we wasted no time trying it out on our pup that very night. We were absolutely amazed at how easy the new blade cut through her dense fur. We had her completely body clipped within 40 minutes, and that includes taking a short break to let the new blade cool before we tackled her tummy area.My wife and I were both very pleased with this product (as was Kylie the Queensland Heeler who ran around the house and yard for 15 minutes showing off her new "do" to the other dogs). This $20 gamble paid off big time. We're so glad we didn't spend all that extra money on a brand new set of clippers.

Wonderful blade but must be kept lubricated
I've got five hairy dogs and this blade works perfectly for them. But I decided, upon my purchase of my first blade, to cut corners and not order the Oster Premium Lubricating Clipper Oil, 4-ounces. What a mistake! When I went to groom the dogs later a second time, the blade had become dull and unusable, and I had to order another new one. Then I read the reviews of Oster Blade Lube and learned how indispensible it is to use after grooming your dog(s) or the blade will not last long. Several of the reviewers give explicit directions on how to use.
