yes take a safety razor put shaving cream on the area you want to patch shave it till it is smooth ..GENTLY... I use pool patch and glue ,make the patch round, let it sit for a few hrs before you inflate .. These beds are prone to leak, bad!! and will until they get them made better , the instructions are stupid, they tell you to open the inflate wheel ,turn on air till it is full enough, then tell you close the wheel and then shut off the power !! later in the instructions tell you do not ever run the power with the wheel closed ???? Made in the USA ???NO I would bet they are not .... This company is trying to call and fix problems I am on my 3rd leaky bed however I am going to go out soon and look at better beds that will last.. I had an old select comfort , that lasted 15 yrs no leaks, had to add air like 5 or 6 times a yr! of course it was 3 times the price these are comfortable wish it was made better yes all air beds leak but no one wants to wake up on the floor every night , really wish I could say they are better but they are junk 3 strikes you are out but thanks for trying
