Q: Is KMC an up market label or a pirate?

KMC is a good brand of chains, and like shimano they offer cheap chains which arent so great and dearer ones that compete with shimanos higher end ones. i bought the x9 for 24 pounds , it runs really smooth with my xt chainwheels and cassette and gear shifting is just as good as the sachs pc99 i used to have , which was a thirty quid chain but isnt available now . I replaced it with the x9 and dont regret it.

Q: i would be grateful for advantages/disadvantages of the 'full nickel plated' x9- silver compared to the 'half nickel plated' (x9-silver/grey), plse

i actually bought the gold titanium nitride coated one, but i assume its function is the same as the silver . It gives the link plates a harder and smoother surface , less sticky for dirt , easier to clean , prolonging life. I havn,t had mine long enough to give an opinion on that , but its super smooth and looks very pretty when i wash the mud off it.
