Don't let the cover art fool you!
OK, first of all this is a 'found footage' movie, which isn't mentioned in the description. I wish I had known before buying this DVD because I am SO over this particular film device. Even beyond that, though, this movie is awful. The character of the cameraman is a whiny twit who chatters and babbles throughout the entire film, so even when something interesting happens all you can think is "Shut up, shut up, shut up!" And, unfortunately, he's probably the most interesting character. The movie was filmed in the UK and it's immediately obvious that they're not in a remote region of Amazonian Peru, and the believability of anything else in the movie goes downhill from there. Did I mention that this movie is awful? I only wish there was a way to rate it with no stars at all.

Too LITTLE... and too LONG... T=W=O.... t-w-o long.
First off, this was filmed as a hand-held point-of-view movie... with actors and actresses un-known to THIS 66-year-old dinosaur loving fan._________________________________________________________________________________Ever see that video---maybe there's two---of the guy wearing the RAPTOR dino-suit, with theanimatronic-head, walking around a building's elevators?THAT is as big as the dinosaur is in this movie. The "big" ones are only "s=e=e=n" from inside atent. The movie was starting to get old 80-minutes in, but, dammit, I paid my money.I watched it once; won't watch it a second time.A dinosaur movie where a tarantula, bug, and snake are scarier. The highlight of the F/X is theterrific gash on the girl's belly! The DVD case's COVER is the S-C-A-R-I-E-S-T part of this movie. Absolutely NO CGI-dinosaurs!None.Too LITTLE... and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay TOO long!I'm being VERY generous with TWO-stars, it'd probably top out at 1.5---on a, very, very, RAINYday!_________________________________________________________________________________Footnote:I ammended my star rating DOWN one star because a commentor said he'd stomp my FOOT if Ididn't.Get it? This is a FOOT note._________________________________________________________________________________

Poor film - not worth it.
This really is a poor film. I'm not a big fan of this kind of film - one where a shaky camera (Blair Witch style) records all the action, but I am a big dinosaur fan so I thought I would give it a go. Shaky camera as others reviewers have said doesn't quite hit the mark. Not only is the camera very shaky a majority of the time, but you get a lot of filming of the ground, scenes where people are talking and you're looking at their feet, and many minutes of dark screens (dark enough you can't really see any action). And there's very little "face time" with any dinosaurs. I was very disappointed and this DVD quickly found a spot in the trash can.

A Real Flop
Not a good write up, In Jurassic park 4 "Extinction" was a real flop. Sam Neal states, "That the part 4 show was a reboot" never gotout for anyone to see the movie. Very discouraging, never released yet.

Not what I exspected.

Just would not play either of them
I had to send it back twice, have no idea if it is good or bad, it just would not play on any of my players, very disappointed and a waste of my time, Amazon was great on returning my money and shipping on both.

The makers of this film deserve EXTINCTION!
Spoiler Alert! This film is spoiled on so many levels the best thing I can say is Buyer Beware. The shameless profiteering of this group of film makers and marketers leaves this client disgusted. I knew this was not going to be solid competition for the latest Jurassic Park film. But I thought I would get SOMETHING for my money besides a flimsy cardboard cover and an even weaker movie within. Most of the running time of this film is spent watching hand held shots of people tramping through greenery , getting dirty, and gripping about how hot it is. The dinosaurs do not show up until the last few minutes of this meandering mess. And when they do, the props are recognizable as off-the-shelf plastic toys. I am not kidding. There is no bad language or nudity. But that does not mean that this has any entertainment value for younger viewers. This little gem is a dud for for any age group. You have been warned. There are more interesting DVDs coming out later this Summer. Save your money for a little while longer. This dog will end up in a dollar bin before too long. Get it then if you must. That way you wont feel so ripped off.

Fun film but a bit long
A scientific research team go out to the Amazon with a camera crew to look for new animal species. When they arrive at their location they find it has been illegally logged and decide to move further into the jungle so as not to waste their trip. Although they do find what they were looking for they also find a dinosaur colony which is bent on eating the humans. This is a review after a second watch - I picked this up again after originally watching it a couple of years ago - at the time I was impressed by the production. This time, although I still enjoyed the film, found that it felt overly long at 100 minutes in length. The story starts off well enough introducing the characters and following their travel to the destination, but once they get there most of the movie is spent trailing the group as they travel through the jungle. Much of their trip is uneventful although there are a number of late night encounters with the dinosaurs where you don't actually see them. There are a number of occasions where you see the dinosaurs in the distance if you are watching closely but the characters are otherwise occupied and miss the opportunity. Towards the end there is a fair bit of action and the dinosaur effects are then quite good. The film only seems to be available on DVD which is a shame as the jungle setting and expansive vistas would have transferred well to hi-def.Would have benefited from 10 minutes cut out but still decent entertainment.

Dire.
Not only was this film not 'good', it wasn't even 'so bad it's good'. It was awful. Too long & very, very little action. The cover image is completely misleading, you don't see a dinosaur until at least half way through (and that a glimpse) and I was begging for 2 of the actors to be eaten within 5 minutes of the start (they sadly lasted until a couple of mins before the end). A pointless film that I'll not be keeping and the only reason that I got to the end of it was liberal use of the fast forward button (just on the off chance that something actually happened - it didn't). I could have produced better with a video camera & a plastic dinosaur and some fake roaring of my own.

A hidden gem
I really liked this film. Yes, both the cover and the title are very deceptive, as you barely see a dinosaur, but I think that makes this film all the better. It is not a blockbuster, with a blockbuster's budget and so often in these films the dinosaurs look very false and not like we are used to from the Jurassic Park franchise. So, by keeping them almost entirely aloof and in the distance what we get instead is the feeling of the expedition party being stalked, chased and terrified by what they are seeing. I'd highly recommend it, especially as you can get it so cheaply.

Good for a B-movie
For what this is it is very good. Try to remember it is a classic B-movie so the cover is designer to make it look better than it is. There is not some ginormous t-rex in the film, but what i do like is the fact that instead of using some really crappy CGI they have used a decent fully functioning robot, and not just a head but rather the whole dinosaur. Whilst recording this on "found footage" style is creates a good air of far for me, ok not exactly scary, but more sense of realism than rubbish CGI. All in all a decent watch, and it is a good length rather than the constant 70 minute things that keep going out. If cheap enough, certainly worth a try
