Enormous sound from a tiny device
After reading many positive reviews of the Urge Basics Soundbrick on Amazon, I decided to give it a try. It is the perfect mate to my Sony Xperia Z tablet to allow me to take full, rich, powerful sound with me anywhere I go. One of the reasons I chose the Xperia Z tablet is it's micro SDHC card slot. With a 64gb card, I can keep most of my music collection on the tablet and take it anywhere. It takes only a few seconds to pair the Urge Basics Soundbrick with my tablet or phone. It has rich full sound that compares to my expensive living room surround sound system. When I first turned it on, I thought the sound was a bit tinny. By tweaking the graphic equalizer in the audio settings of my tablet, I quickly discovered the incredibly clear, rich, full sound that this tiny unit is capable of producing. It's amazing! It's about half the size and weight of a paving brick and the case has a rubbery coating and "sticky" feet to hold it in place. It seems really solid and well-made. I can't begin to describe how handy it is. I use it in the bathroom when I'm getting ready and can hear the music very clearly, even in the shower. You can use this outside while doing yard work or washing the car. Entertain your friends at a cookout or take it to the pool or beach. I've had this unit for over a month now and use it almost every day, sometimes for hours at a time and I've only had to recharge it once so far. People can't believe that all that sound is coming from that tiny little box.I have not used the speakerphone feature so I will only assume that works as well as it's other features. Since I've only had this unit for a few weeks, I cannot attest to it's long-term durability but my experience with it so far has been great. It's rich, full sound and long battery life rival name-brand units costing hundreds more. I think this was a very good purchasing decision and highly recommend this unit.

Broke after 8mo
Bluetooth failed just like others have stated here. No device connects to the soundbrick anymore, I was pretty happy with the product before but expected this thing to last longer than a year.I emailed the urge basics company today, will see if they respond at all.------------------updateThey responded, asked for my information so they can send me a new one and I replied right away.At the 1 month point, I emailed again and they apologized for the delay and that my new soundbrick would ship out that week.5 weeks later and nothing, I responded back to Linsdey (customer service rep), and no response.A couple weeks later I received a response and problem resolved.

Perfectly simple plug and play in less than 3 minutes!!!`
I read all the great reviews posted here, especially Zachary S.'s very informative Video Review and I received my new Soundbrick today. I have to say it truly was as simple to pair, operate and begin enjoying as others mentioned here. The sound quality is crisp, clear and certainly loud enough to be heard throughout my large 2 bedroom condo (even when I'm in my back bedroom and it's playing in the living room). It's also super cute and tiny, fitting easily in the palm of my hand, but it has a bit of heft to it, too so I wouldn't want to walk around with it all day.Unfortunately, as one reviewer said the wireless range is poor. :-( As soon as I walked around the corner with my phone in hand, the speaker signal became static and unstable. Even when I stayed within the same room but walked about 15-20 feet away, the frequency became unstable. However, I don't plan to walk around a lot with my phone away from the speakers so for the most part it shouldn't be a problem. My review would have been 5 stars except for that.Otherwise, I'm all smiles. Especially since it had a strong battery even upon unpacking it so I could enjoy it right away without having to wait for it to charge. I think it's absolutely a great product for a good value!

A Steal for under $40 Bucks
Let's put this into perspective right away. If you consider your self an audiophile, why the heck are you even on this page??? If you are someone looking for a great sounding compact Bluetooth Speaker for under $40.00 then read on. I can honestly say that I tried about 5 other small BT speakers, most of which cost at lest 2 to 3 times what this one did. NONE of them sounded nearly as good, even some of those costing substantially more. The main feature aside from the sound quality is the volume. This little puppy will surprise you here, but don't expect to rock a block party. The laws of physics finally take over, but it really will get louder than similar units of this size. What I have NEVER seen discussed is the dramatic positive (or negative) effect that the EQ setting on the audio source can make. Using the EQ adjustments on my iPhone, I can make this thing sound really good or flat and dull as a pancake. Adjusting EQ settings really can make a HUGE difference in the sound quality of any BT device, especially something this small.I have owned mine for over a year and have lugged it all over the world with zero issues. The ONLY negative issue was the flashing blue LED on the front while in use. Very annoying, but simply fixed with a 1/2 in strip of black tape over the LED light.Bottom line, the Soundbrick really is a great performer, even when stacked up against even much more expensive compact BT speakers. I give it a strong buy at anything under $40.00. You can always do better at $200.00+ but this is a really great value for the money.
