Nice set of jars
I purchased these jars to store opened tins of pipe tobacco, and they are perfect for that application. A 50 gram tin fits nicely in the jar with just a bit of space left at the top. The wide mouth of these jars make it easy to remove tobacco for a smoke. The regular small mason type jars have too small an opening to get your fingers in to pull out the needed amount of tobacco. Put a piece of aluminum foil on top of the tobacco, then a moistened, folded paper towel on top of that to keep the tobacco from drying out. The jars seal very well and the large lids make opening and closing an easy task. They would also be a great size to store other small items in such as screws, nuts, washers, craft items, etc. They stack well. Of course, their intended purpose is for jams/jelly, and I would think they would be the perfect thing for that task.

Canning jars are perfect for freezing soups and liquids
I use the jars for freezing large quantities of soups and stock in useable size portions. The wide mouths are easy for pouring in the liquid without spilling. When ready to use I let warm water run over the jar for a few seconds before removing the lid. Then I put the opened jar in the microwave oven for 35 seconds to loosen up the frozen ingredients from the jar. I don't know if the jars are actually microwave safe so without further testing I am not recommending heating the jars for any longer periods, if at all. I only do this to begin the defrost process so I can heat the soup in a pan.A word of warning: I submitted a packaging report separately a week ago because most of the jars arrived with their lids dinged due to non-existent protection when shipping. I have not heard a peep out of Amazon. The jars are usable so I am not returning them but if they are not packaged any better you could possibly receive damaged goods.

Good product, do not support the price gouging...
This product works great for canning, just make sure that the cans are screwed on finger-tip tight (AKA screwing the lid on just until it has a little resistance). I also use it for sous vide when I need to make sauces, flan, cheesecake, creme brulee. The only time I had a problem was when I screwed it past a finger-tip tight and the jars burst. Also a case of these should only cost about $9 to $12, and I would not buy anything much over that. The price gouging on this item is ridiculous and should not cost $24 or even $36 dollars. At that point I will buy artisanal canned food or desserts from a bakery, instead of giving money to these price gougers.

Perfect for spices!
We've got all of our spices in these jars. We prefer being able to scoop or grab a handful instead of sprinkling spices. This jar allows the ability to drop your fingers in to grab a handful for dropping on your food. We have been able to easily make bbq rubs, spaghetti sauces and delicious mexican dishes because these are the perfect size for using!

Fit perfect for SHIPPING!
My brother lives in Arizona and he LOVES our US31 BBQ SAUCE that is by far the BEST FRESH sauce there is!! The problem is it CAN'T be heated, so I can't can it 1st, but with the new dealers they have on the market today, I can sterilize the jars and lids fill them with the sauce and them send them in the Standard medium "If it fits it ships" boxes from the US Post Office! (He does put them in the fridge when he gets them though, the sauce has been tested to stay fresh up to 6 plus weeks as long as it's refrigerated... )Without paying an arm and a leg for shipping! I can other things is season and now that I know they work out so well, I will be using them for homemade gifts for other family members! Just make sure you save the bubble wrap they come in to wrap around them before you put them in the boxes prior to shipping!

Jars are good. Shipping was not.
I love these jars for making overnight oats. They are wide mouthed and easy to clean. The only problem was they weren’t packaged well and a few of the lids were bent. I was able to make them work after bending them back. Not perfect, but okay. I am thankful that the jars didn’t break.

Great way to avoid plastics. Handy to use as "prep bowls" and nice way to pack wet foods for lunch.
I was shopping around for little glass bowls that I could use in the kitchen to hold pre-measured ingredients when it occurred to me that I would get more use out of tiny mason jars.If you like to keep chopped onions in the fridge, a small mason jar is perfect because the tops will keep odors from getting into the fridge. If you like to eat bean salads, a small mason jar is perfect because it holds a nice portion for a "side" in the lunch box and you can pre-pack them ahead of time.If you make your own hummus, you can divide it up between two jars and use them to dip veggies or pita into.I used mine to melt chocolate chips in a pot of hot water. While the microwave may be faster, I enjoyed doing it in the mason jar on the stove, making what I assume to be a "double boiler". The chocolate melted nicely, there seemed to be much less chance of scorching it, and it didn't get overly hot unlike when you microwave it.I suppose they would be handy to shape/cut biscuit dough as well. And, of course, you can vacuum pack your jars to keep the food fresher longer, especially if you are making 5 portions for the work week and want to make sure Friday's lunch is as good as Monday's.Anyway, these jars have lots of uses and you will surely find more uses than you have jars.

Tight Seal Storage Containers
These are a no-brainer. Environmentally friendly, easy storage, easy to clean, and will never wear out like plastic dishes. No worries about chemicals releasing when heated and they stack well!
