The Cat in the Hat in English and French (Le Chat Au Chapeau)

We have a bilingual home because I'm American and Hubby is from France. Important note, I don't speak cohesive French at all. At our house, we love Dr. Seuss. I introduced Dr. Seuss to Hubby when we starting collecting books for our baby, and he fell in LOVE with them. And Hubby is very very VERY good about reading (not just speaking) to our little kiddo in French, but Dr. Seuss was like IMPOSSIBLE to translate on his own because of the made up words and the specific rhyming patterns. Enter in Cat in the Hat in English and French: it was perfect! This is actually what I got Hubby for Christmas and he loves it. He did say some of the words are changed to make it work, so it varies slightly from the original English story... BUT he thought it was well done and the overall theme is the same. Done well enough that we actually got copies to give to our niece and nephew in France to share what we love with them. I love that it has both English and French text on the same page: makes a great reference for putting together the vocabulary and comparing the languages next to each other, and it is only one copy of the book. I have 2 Hortons, 2 grinches, etc because of the desire to have both languages in our home; So that fact that it is one book with both languages is a HUGE plus for me! Other great thing is it is all original art work, no variance there. So 5 stars from our family!

The 'Cat in the Hat' is excellent in French and English. This bilingual version will help you with either language and keep you entertained with this fantastic story by Dr. Seuss. The translation is well done and well-placed on the pages. Feel free to read in one language or both languages!

The cat in the hat or le chat au chapeau. Easy book for kids to learn French. Translations included on all pages. Vocabulary words used in both languages to make rhymes. Highly recommend it.

Great for kids learning French and English ( parents too)

Ive been trying to learn French and so I thought about these books. My toddler even likes looking at the pictures and we read it in English for him. I also found it on YouTube to help learn the correct french pronunciation.

I haven’t read this yet but I’ve read the cat in the hat so many times, I bought this because it’s also in French. And I figured I could maybe learn some French at the same time.

Wonderful quality, loved being able to find a book in both French and English. Perfect for my friend who is raising a bilingual child. Book bind is strong and images are printed clearly without blurring or pixelation.

Je suis professeur d'anglais et je suis ravie de cet achat. Je l'ai lu à mes élèves et ils ont adorés cette aventure. J'ai suis toujours à la recherche de livres bilingues et celui-ci est particulièrement bien réussis grâce a ses rimes bien traduites.

Delivery was fast and the book is great for children (or grown ups) learning languages, both English and French

Fabulous book. Dual language books are perfect for youngsters learning French and this is a great book in any language.
