is 275rpm buffer too fast?

I used a 600-3500 RPM variable speed buffer on my marble countertops and it worked fine.

Why does the packaging in the picture have "Marble" in large print and "granite" in the description for use?

Tub I ordered was exact same label but the product i received description was for marble.. advice,,, use a breather, very dusty.
